    I have worked in fast food. Yes it sucks, but I also met a guy who just came out of prison, and it was a good way for him to start working back up again, given that he was only young himself...it gave him a good chance to prove and improve himself, which he did. And yes mom is proud of me :-)

    Just about, although some high bitrate xvid/divx/3ivx etc will struggle. Reliable yes given the system's in a good state, smoothly is another question.

    Depends on drive read ahead algorithms. Chances are, it will be of benefit. Although for a real big improvement, a Hitachi 7K60 or better isnt a bad start.

    If you need battery life beyond 2 1/2hrs+ , then the Athlon64 mobile will be fine. Otherwise stick with centrino. If your spineless, Centrino otherwise Athlon64. After carrying mine back and forth to university most days, 2months later, I now cant tell I've got a 3.6KG laptop in my bag...

    P4EE performed well with 2MB cache. I know the Prescott suffers from higher latency in its L2 cache, but given this + its other features, it could creep back in.

    From 3ghz to 3.8ghz = 27%~ improvement. Unless what you do is computationally intensive (i.e. any repeatitive task that isnt bottlenecked by CPU, like encoding AV), your unlikely to see the benefits.
