Which mobo has better audio? ATI vs Nvidia

Many people like anti creative rants just like anti m$ rants. I really like my XFI except for new beta driver releases aren't too popular (meaning x64 vista and x64 linux personally). If you just use xp32 then I would recommend creative with no doubt.

GA-K8U with Athlon 64 3500+

Raid 0 setup compared to sata HD

Saying that Raod 0 is a huge waste of HDD space is pointless as you loose no space at all. I have been running a Raid 0 array ever since one of my first Athlon setup's and I love it, but whether you like it or hate it, you don't waste any space at all. I keep a current backup at all times, so...

x800xl-->7800gt: worthy upgrade?

I definitely have read a review that showed that putting 2GB of memory in the machine didn't change the FPS scores from 1GB, and even 1GB showed minute changes over 512MB. Jason

Upgrading...need some advice(yes another one of these threads lol)

It won't be dual channel because you have different amounts in each channel. If you had 2x256MB in the two slots, and then a single 512MB in the other single slot, that would give you dual channel, but 3x512MB won't be dual channel.

nForce4-4X??

No the 4x means limited to a 4x multiplier for the HTT bus instead of a 5x multi. On Socket 754 systems, 4x is standard, while on socket 939 it is 5x (thats why it is 1.6GB buss for socket 754 and 2GB bus for socket 939). Jason

Athlon 64 3000/3200+ can overclock as high as the 3500+?

I have my Athlon64 3000+ running at 2.25GHz. (250MHz. HTT, 3X multi, RAM running a little over 200MHz. w/ relaxed timings). I have lower grade memory (one Mushkin and one Geil, each 512MB PC3200 regular grade). I wonder how high I can go. I have a Gige-byte 8KNS board and a Thermaltake copper...

Nvidia GeForce FX 5500 AGP X8 256 Mb. Ram for 90 euros worth it?

The lowest I have seen a 9800SE 256bit is $145US and that was at Newegg, and last I checked, they were higher than that now. But the capability to mod them to a 9800 and possibly OC them to 9800 Pros is an awesome value for the money. Jason
