I grew up when adventure games were all the rage. Yet I could not stand them and still cannot. I never saw the excitement in spending hours clicking inventory items on every pixel on the screen - which is what most of the game play boiled down to.
Please feel free to tell my how you...

I was one of the folks asking about the family pack earlier, so thanks for posting this thread. Sounds like the family plan is actually a fairly well thought out and consumer friendly idea. One interesting tidbit I noticed is that downloaded content (I assume DLC for games) is shared by all...
Recently I purchased a Buffalo WZR-HP-G300NH to replace an elderly (and failing) Linksys WRT54G. Aside from dealing with the Comcast compatibility quirks all has gone fairly well except for one issue.
The only problem is with my neighbor. For several years I have shared my broadband...
Actually I refuse to shop TD because of an experience in the late 1990s. They sold me a pre-built system that was a total POS and they essentially refused to do much of anything about it. Their customer service was rude, obnoxious, and eventually resulted to calling names and threatening me...
Thanks for posting that link. It contained the solution for the wmplayer.exe issue I was having. Specifically the instructions in post #14 worked for me.
Now I have the urge to kick someone at Logitech for even designing something this way. A G110 keyboard in my case.
Probably not. Although you will miss out on a few bonuses related to importing a Mass Effect 1 character (a few bonus levels, extra paragon/renegade points, etc). You may also miss a few character interactions that are based upon ME1 choices. Should not really be a huge deal. At least you...
I hope that does not happen. Personally I think it indicates a good deal on a good game when someone actually takes the time to make a separate post about it.
I don't tend to follow the gaming press or reviews that often. So a thread with a dozen or so excited people commenting about the...
It is running OK for me in 64bit Win7. I did get a bit of audio choppiness and some generally slow start up behavior, however I tend to have similar issues in a lot of Steam games (slow startup).
Running at just at max graphics and it looks fairly decent.
Borderlands is fairly good on split screen. I am currently playing through with my stepson. Keep in mind the game has some spicy language (and violence) if you plan to play with a youngster.
This PC will be a Christmas gift for my stepson. He will use it for gaming, general web browsing, homework (minimal I am sure), and whatever the early teen brain can come up with. Budget for the core system is around $500-600. Peripherals (keyboard, mouse) will be recycle from his current...
All of the expansions are excellent. Also the free mod Fall From Heaven is incredible. http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=171398
Don't mess around with buying expansions though. Just pick up a copy of Civ 4 Complete. It contains all the expansions, a copy of Civ 4 Colonization...
The deal is still live, although hard to find on the Direct2Drive website. Following the link at the start of this thread I was able to pick up Warhammer 40k II for the $25 price just a few minutes ago.
I have a similar question. I am about to purchase a new laptop, however all of the models that I am looking at come with the 32-bit version of Vista Home Premium (oddly enough they all have 4 GB of ram). Ideally I would like to replace the 32 bit OS with Vista 64.
I own a copy of Vista...
Well, Newegg has shaken things up a bit by reducing some prices and tossing out a few combo deals that I could not pass up. Thus far I have ordered

At $69 shipped it was just to good to pass up. IF...
I am still kicking around the idea of downgrading to the E7200, especially since I can knock about $60 off the build price by doing this. I wonder how much difference the slightly higher speed of the 8400 combined with higher L2 Cache actually makes. Of course that $60 almost makes of the...
I am ready to replace my aging PC that I built with help from the Anandtech community over 5 years ago. Since I have finally decided to upgrade to a newer system, where else should I start but here in this forum.
Please take a look at the parts I have selected below and let me know if you...
I received mine yesterday and am quite happy. Brightness is excellent, contrast is good, and absolutely no ghosting (only tested in WoW so far). This is my second 19? LCD in a week (the other was just returned to Sam?s Club) and there is no doubt this is the better monitor.
The image is...
I ordered one of these monitors today from Newegg. Estimated delivery is Monday (31st), but hopefully it will arrive Friday. I will report back once I have a chance to test it out.
