I think it has something to do with the way it seats in the mb. Some people have gotten thiers to work "intermitttently" by wiggling it. Also if you put the retainer clip over the card and you want to remove it, you will probably have to cut it with a pair of wire cutters.

Thanks Eron. I removed the dpvrm and stoped getting the "VRD power failure" message. I found out why I couldn't get it to boot. It was the ram. Apparently the auto settings for the ram in the BIOS are too aggressive. I stuck an old stick of DDR266 in and it booted. Then I got into the BIOS...
