GF8800 GTS power supply?

well I found a SILVERSTONE STRIDER ST46F 460W and here in eu it costs approx. $105 I may have to put this idea on hold because buying a more expensive graphics card and a high end PSU is overkill for me right now ;) I will know what to look out for now, thanks!

Can Zen Touch play music when plugged into a wall outlet (not on battery) or when recharging? And do you mean you can transfer files to the player without any software that has to be installed? Was there a firmware update for that (I thought Creative MediaSource was necessary)?

LCD vs CRT

For me LCD is great for web browsing and studying, my Sony CRT is still much better for games, movies and graphics, that's because of the superior contrast and saturated, uniform colors as well as real black.

Check out some Sager laptops - these are built for gaming, but they can get expensive. It is possible to attach a keyboard, USB or PS/2, same with mouse. Screens are just as good as desktop LCDs, 15" isn't too small. You can upgrade RAM, HDD and that's about it. You can get more info here...

Buttons at the top don't always work.

Not all of them work in my browser (IE with all updates), namely all of them work except "new topic", "help" and I'm not sure about "logout" (don't really want to try this now). And "login" did not work (I had to do some hacking to log in after the upgrade ;)). Hope this gets resolved :)...

LCD Shimmering when I scroll??

In that case I would also blame the drivers - I get that same effect until I install proper drivers after a fresh Windows installation e.g. it also happens when dragging a window across the screen (not just the outline though).

Yes an awsome player by all means - wish I had one, too bad iRiver doesn't advertise like crazy :) Still not many have even heard of them (and they make exceptional flash and slimX players too) Although you hardware guys should now better ;) At least they keep the price very low for US market...

Of course there is one! iRiver iHP It's a HDD player with capacities of 10/20/40GB and it has optical OUT Has other wonderful features too :) BTW the optical out has volume control but since it is done at CPU level it is a true optical line-out, it does bypass the internal amplifier

Intel application accelerator -- good or bad?

I have recently done a test with IAA installed, with Intel UltraATA Strorage (old version of IAA) and with default WinXP dirvers. I used HDTach and the cosbi benchmark. My resaults where very simmilar in each case, but IAA showed ~10% CPU usage, while the other ~5%. Read speeds in HDTach where...

I'm affraid iRiver won't be comming with a new 1" HDD player (other than iGP-100 which is 1.5GB), they have released their roadmap for 2004 and no minidisk players there... I heard good things about the Rio Nitrus, and we will see about iPod mini. IMO there isn't really too much market for this...
