I've looked at fry', svc, newegg but dont see one with usb and firewire with CF reader. if it has firewire it doesn't have reader.

Another Office Depot Rebate Scam - Maxtor Hard Drive

same problem here. The rebate form clearly states that the date I bought was within range, but rebates@parago.com says it was not. Does anyone have a phone number for them so you can talk directly with a person?

Cheap mobo that will run a Duron?

I just got the 1800 duron ECS k7vta3 v8 combo from frys for $59 bucks. KT333 chipset. Runs great for a cheap mobo ~$29.

fans spin up, videocard fan spins up, cd and hdd power up. no beeps or video though. Gonna take it back and try a new one.

read elsewhere of people having the same problem but a pci video card will allow a boot. people just cant get agp cards to work. i'll have to try my pci video later today and i'll update. anyone know how to get around this problem???

Tried the above. Also swapped out the battery and tried a GF3 ti200. Still no luck. Sounds dead to me. Any other suggestions before I take it back. thanks!

hooked up rpm sensing and still no luck. AGP Card is fully seated. PS is Antec 300W. Any other suggestions out there?

Got the fry's 1800 duron / ECS combo. Installed MB/Proc/GF4Mx440/PC3200 Mushkin and can't get it to post. No beeps. Switched out Processor to duron 600, video card to GF4 ti4200, and memory to pc3200 Corsair one at a time and still no post. Reset bios, switched jumpers back down to 100Mhz...

I've used the Memorex +R and +RW as well as Maxell +R and +RW both worked great. No coasters.

A7N8X - My tale of woe

I have the ASUS A7N8X with Corsair XMS3200 x 256 c2 and it wouldn't post with this memory. But it would post with PC2100. Found the link below and changed the bios settings from optimal to agressive and swapped the memory back in and it works like a champ now. Corsair Forums

Any suggestions of a PCI Raid Card? Or should I go with a controller on the motherboard? Seems like it would be a little cheaper going for the PCI if you have the slots.

Does Abit KT7 Support Duron 1000?

Here is the response I received from tech support last week: Dear Customer, Sorry, KT7-RAID can only support Duron up to 950Mhz with the latest bios. Morgan core Duron is not supported. Thank you. Regards ABIT FAE

DVD movies question

That is normal if you have it set up to play widescreen or letterbox. You can change the settings to pan and scan if you want it to take up the whole screen, but widescreen format is better.
