Based on the specs, it seems to be excellent--if you don't have to haul this around a lot (5.6lb, based on a quick search) and you are OK with the resolution. I looked at this model but decided to pass because of the weight.. but the deal was not as good when I checked, though

I currently use SSD drive for my system files only - in that case I don't need a 128GB drive. If I want to use the drive for all storage, then I probably need more than 128GB. Hmm, should I bite on this or not? Oops. OOS any way, problem solved.

great deal. I picked up a biostar tp67+ and an i7-2500K 2 weeks ago and it is working great. At that time the only board with a large discount was biostar, otherwise I would have bought the combo with a different board. But Biostar seems to be working fine (cross my fingers).

The do have a few other bundles with 2500k (paired with boards from Asus, Gigabyte and maybe one with MSI), which I was checking out before finding this deal. I was going to buy the Gigabyte package as my recent experience with them has been very good. I think those packages cost from 299 to 319...

thanks, the weather made me do it. My computer room is too hot so I nerd to build myself a strong enough HTPC to play in a cooler room. my 3rd pc in 1994 (made by Quantex) was based a BIOSTAR mb which outlived my interest and is sitting in be basement. I wish thie Biostar mb is good.

Thanks. That is what I was trying to say (apparently, not very successfully). Anyway, I don't mind being told I was wrong. This is why I visit a site like this - try to learn something new. So it could be possible that one software works better with ATI (becasue it is optimized for ATI)...

So you need the right software to take advantage of video acceleration offered by a card? I naively thought it is avaialbe at the driver/os level and thus avaialbe to any video playback. Wishful thinking on my part.

Did you put the system together recently? How can you not remember what HSF (cpu cooler, Heat Sink Fan) you have? TIM = Thermal Interface Materail, or thermal spread, thermal grease.... using cpuid, you can see if your memory frequency is out of specs or not. (as the above post suggested)...

I have not used ECS borards before, so I am not sure where you can adjust the cpu voltage. But it looks like you are running anything at spces. So I'd worry if the cooling is adequate. What is your temperature? What coolling do you have. Which parts / software did you upgrade when the errors...

Did you upgrade one of the parts or the os? Which one? Or is it that you have new mb/cpu? The errors you have for Large / blend tests suggest you have hardware problems. I'd try small fft test to see to see if it is cpu-related. if you still error out quickly for small fft, most likely...

Finally got my C0 to 4 GHz!

my c0 hit a cliff at 172 bclk. I was not willing to push the vcore into 1.4 territory so I gave up. my d0 works much better at 195blck now. The temp on the do is actually higher than the temp of the co, though (if I run them at the same voltage and clock).

Search is your best friend. There are a few i7 oveclocking guides floating around, do a google search. One of them can be found through this thread I have never had foxconn mb before so I really can't help... You just have to learn it through trial and error. Good luck.

How did this test go? If I were you I'd use the setting and begin testing in Windows. I have the same memory and I passed the memtest86 after 24hr at ~1600 but cannot get it stable in Windows (prime 95 large in place, Linpak 5120mb test) at that speed at all. I can get my memory stable at 7...
