    MAG Innovision 19" 971FS-s

A couple of years ago I purchased a cheaper Mag 19" monitor from Best Buy. It was something like $120. I took it back the same day. I had the worst picture quality I have ever seen. Total junk. Personally, I wouldn't cheap out on something you spend a long time staring at.

    Need Good Fan Controller

I've used the original Vantec Nexus, the Sunbeam, the Zalman, and the Super Flower. The Super Flower is in my system now, and has been for a while. I feel no need to replace it. The Vantec made a buzzing or humming noise due to its voltage regulation methods. That drove me nuts. Also, you...

Confused about all these heatsinks, CPU fans, CPU coolers!

If you want to see a whole lot of heatsinks reviewed, check out Dan's Data's cooler comparo. There are a lot of heatsinks reviewed there, and it gets updated often. On another note, I give the nod to the Vantec Aeroflow as well. I'm very happy with mine, it provides great cooling with...

I've been very happy with my Koss PortaPro headphones. I used the same 50% off deal listed (it's been around for a long time). They sound many times better than my much more expensive Sony's I replaced them with. When I first opened the package, I was underwhelmed. Once you hear them...

Connecting LEDs directly to the motherboard

Does this work? I purchased some pre-tailed LEDs from FrozenCPU, and they don't light up much at all when plugged into my EPoX. I have to cup my hand over them to see them dimmly lit up. The mutlimeter says 2.57 volts are coming out of the power LED pins on the MoBo.

    Help with Audigy 2 Installation

I think if you want all the extra fluff like Creative's audio player and goofy mixer, you need to install the drivers off the CD first. After that, upgrade using the drivers you found on the web. I would and have installed only the minimum drivers. The additional programs aren't that great IMO.

The main draw to SVC is their resonable shipping charges and overall low costs. NewEgg loses a lot my own and I'm sure other people's business on small items because of the outrageous shipping charges on small items. I wouldn't be supprised if many of us spend as much or more money on the...

Replacement Power/HDD LEDs way too dim

Why Overclock, why not just build it to that speed?

The difference is and has been typically durability and longevity. Overclocking puts more stress on a chip, and will shorten its life (and in many cases other components). The reason so many do it anyway is because shortening its life might mean going from 10 years to 7 years. In this case...

    wattage of a today's case?

Honestly, you'd probably be just fine running a generic PSU that was at least 300 watts. It's not going to allow you to overload it without problems like other ones might, but it would be sufficent. Then again, different companies consider power output in different ways. A 500 watt generic...

    too good to be true?

Well consider an Antec LED 120 millimeter fan spins at 2200 RPMs and moves 70.6 CFM while making 36 dB of noise. A Papst 120 mm fan spins at 1600 RPMs and moves 55.6 CFM while making 26 dB. The Evercool in question fan is ball-bearing, so it's not using one of the quieter sleeve designs. I...
