    Need advice. Glute injury.

    I am not a doctor. What I've always read is that if warming up the muscles makes the pain go away then it's probably some form of DOMS and it's ok to work out. If after warming up the pain is just as severe as before then it's probably some kind of injury so don't work out.

    I'm heavier than my usual weight which is when I start to trip up on DU. I still don't see 35 taking more than a minute each set though. Assuming I eventually break up the thrusters into sets of 5 and 4 with a decent rest I think 20 minutes should be doable.

    Wow! I used 16.5 as a guess for how long I would take for this since 16.5 had 84 thrusters and 84 bar facing burpees which are presumably harder than double unders. I did 16.5 in 18:34 I think. Now, I'm worried that my estimate was too liberal.

    I read a breakdown on r/crossfit about all the past movements and their distribution among the different open workouts. The only movements that have consistently been programmed every year but have not yet been featured this year are doubles and thrusters. Blech.

    Everyone is saying dumbbell thrusters and double unders. I would hate dumbbell thrusters. They will probably program them at 50# each or something. I can do 100# thrusters but there's something about stabilizing the dumbbells on my shoulders that saps my strength.

    Ok, I'm 46 so definitely younger by your definition. But, I definitely still workout at a pretty high heartrate. It's just the nature of crossfit workouts. High output but for shorter periods of time than other workout styles like long runs.

    What age do you consider "younger"? I can certainly tell you that beyond 5 minutes into a workout I'm breathing *really* hard. If I remember correctly, the anaerobic zone is for very short burst work, like a single heavy lift.

    That's weird. Do you know for certain that your affiliate's owner verified your score on time? For 17.3, I'm hoping to get at least 1 snatch at 135#. My 1RM is 145# and I've done 135# for reps, albeit, very slowly. I want to speed through the first three rounds and get a decent tie break score.
