Theyre not bad dude. Theyre the best there is for people that want the ultimate. Aside from high priced SCSI. Most people cant afford them. Or dont want to.

well.. i installed my first dual core CPU... 4800+ at stock speed.. no difference in my hard drive test. well i gained .1ms in access but thats prob just a coincidence. I have to read up on dual core now and figure out if theres any other setup I need to do. But it did boot up to desktop...

new or used for that price? Ive always stuck with the "Atlas" series of SCSI drives. Anyone have favorites? I dont really want to buy a used ANYTHING.. drives are sketchy enough as it is.

i been thinking about SCSI a lot. I used to have the old U160 setup in some 15k rpm drives. but the drives were only 9 and 18gb. now, i'd need a 74GB SCSI as my OS drive. + a controller card. And if i want a 15k rpm one, its $600+ for the drive alone.

thanks for those reviews, I checked them out. I did have updated firmware. I had upgraded my MB bios a coupel days ago which renewed the Silicon Graphics controller firmwware. (Even though I'm not using that one now). And I downloaded the newest Nforce SATA drivers yesterday during install...

XBOX (not 360) and HDTV

keep in mind, that any game that isnt officially widescreen will look like crap on a widescreen TV. everything will be stretched out. I only have like 2 widescreen games. So you need to put your TV into 4:3 in that case, if you want your 480p games to look right. (I dont have many of those...

my BFG 7800GTX hits 90-91C under load.. i know.. it sucks.. and i have excellent case cooling, my cpu ranges from 24C-26C..

DFI SLI-D No Display (IS this a wider spread issue?)

simple one dude. had that exact problem tonight when i installed mine. check the 4 pin SQUARE connector on your motherboard. if its not hooked up, thats your problem. if your power supply doesnt have that connector, you need to buy a new power supply.

thanks. im not a pc building guru, but im def picky about my cable work. the SATA power cords help a LOT, and I have no large 4 pins going very low on the box. The top of the window is a bit messy, as thats where i try and stuff the leftovers. but its under my desk anyway, not gonna worry...

i got all 4 speakers to work. i'll try and remember how. ps, my fronts are in the green connector, and my rears are in the connector beside it, line in... NOT the surround connector.

Asus Probe read actual CPU die temp?

for reference.. just got the A7N8X-Dx running a AMD thunderbird 1.3333 until tonight... it always runs between 89F - 99F under max load... i got a huge loud Vantec fan tho.. my 2400+ goes in tonight, and im interested in if it gets hotter.. my MB temps always way cooler..

i have same thing. im on Win2k. it also does it when i enter advanced display menu. its enough to keep me away from ATI on my next card. (radeon 8500, 64MB)
