nf7-s PWRFAN1 head - not required?

The pwrfan header is just to report the speed of the power supply fan to the Winbond hardware doctor that comes on the driver CD and the PC health status part of the bios, so turn that baby on and get started.

hole saws!

I use a 3 1/8 in hole saw which is 79mm. All the hole saws I have seen all have the same size teeth.

Am I doing this right?

Thanks Shady06, I'll download Prime 95 and run it overnight tonight. Then I'll come back and ask for some help on mem timings. What really surprises me is that my $15.00 after rebate memory even boots at anything higher than 166.

Am I doing this right?

I got my new NF7-S and 2500+ Barton screwed into the box and got every thing working fine at default settings. So I figured I'd see if I could push it a little. Voltages are at default settings, ram/FSB ratio at 6/6, CPU interface enabled, and memory timings set to optimal which is 8 4 4 3.0...

what is this extra connection on my Seasonic PSU for?

It is probably to monitor the power supply fan speed, if your motherboard has a connector labeled power fan you should connect there and you can monitor the speed of your power supply fan in the bios or your system monitoring software.

What voltages does the Athlon XP use

I've read that the Athlon XP gets its power from the 12v rail like the Pentium 4. I've also read that the Athlon XP gets all its power from the 3v and 5v rails. Does anybody know for sure which way it is. I'm trying to decide on a new power supply. Thank you, Bob

Best integrated mobo for athlon XP?

I built a new system for my daughter using an Epox 8RGA+, $99 shipped at new egg. It went together with no problems, and has been running fine for about two weeks. Hope this helps.

Which power supply

I'm looking at couple of similar cases, one case has an antec sl-350 power supply and the other has an antec True 330. In this case I'll be putting an nForce2 motherboard, not sure which one yet, Athlon XP processor in the 2000 to 2500 range, 2x256 pc3200 DDR memory, an ATI 8500 video card...
