Yes, there is a stats issue, the appropriate people have been notified but when it will be fixed is unknown due to it being the holiday season. Points will still be collected during this time.
It will slow down the project in question because the WU will not be reassigned to someone else until the timeout deadline has passed, which can be a week or more. It is not worth possibly delaying scientific progress to get a few more PPD. :)
Not really too surprising if you consider the massive increase in computing power over that time as well as changes to the point system including the introduction of the quick return bonus. When they first started, it was one point for one WU!
Stanford has published quite a few papers (129 and counting) of results based on Folding, all available on their website.

Our 24 hour average is now over 47M which puts us at 6th best team ppd overall! If we could somehow come up with another 12M that would put us at 4th highest ppd.
Did a little reading up on QD, the TVs that are out using that name are not QD displays, just LCD using QD to filter the back light. But if they do make QD displays they should have good black levels since they don't use a back light.
This is not my experience on either one of my rigs. :)
I have an i7 970 3.2 GHz and dual Xeon X5650 2.66 GHz all currently running at default, and both systems only show about 50% of one thread used for the GPU, and my PPD is definitely not low for either one.
My 980ti (OCed @1474) has never hit 800k for any WU, and averages somewhere between 600 to 700. Prices are not based on folding performance, so yeah, definitely 980ti is a great deal right now.
I skimmed through the thread at folding forum again, and noticed that there was quite a large variation in PPD which means it will definitely depend on which WU you are getting.
Here's a thread at the folding forum regarding Pascal (only 1080 so far), seems to be better than 980Ti, PPD in the thread vary quite a bit up to 1M depending on the WU and OC.

Congratulations to all the folders, past and present, new and old! :)
We also moved up a spot today, passing Tom's Hardware, and are due to pass quite a few more teams in the upcoming months.
As a long time folder it has been great to see the big jump in production since the race in...
I would wait until the new cards come out because they should consume considerably less power than the 780s. Even with those, 1250/1300 is much more than necessary, 1kW should be plenty.
