Technet does have WHS (Windows Home Server) now. They added it a few months ago.

Some batches of this model (wd10eacs) are not compatible with Tivo Series 3. They seem to work fine with Tivo HD though. For Tivo S3's, look for wd10evcs.

Just received mine. Removed my old ram, popped these in, set everything to default in the BIOS, and started running memtest. Failed within the first 5 minutes. So much for getting a good deal...
I've run everything from mythtv to beyondtv to sagetv to mce. But through it all, I've always had my tivo (now my hdtivo). The geek in me enjoyed tinkering with the alternatives, but when it came to actually using a pvr on a day to day basis, I haven't come across anything that's even close to tivo.

intel cpu's power consumptions have dropped dramatically with the core 2 duos.

I have the sp-350 and love how quiet it is. During normal usage, the outer fan is off, making the psu pretty much silent (My refridgerator downstairs can be heard louder than my computer).
