Not really, the original Xbox was rumored at 2 Billion in the Red, so finding out that M$ is losing $300 per Xbox isn't all that surprising. It's called saturating the market and hoping you make a hit.

On Sat night I had my local do a qty check at all the local costcos. The only one that said they had one was Santa Clarita and they sold out that night. So I'm a bit suspicious that a So Cal Costco had on today.

So I returned the drive to best buy, the girl at the return counter said, we don't Warranty drives here, your warranty comes from Seagate.
So I guess the answer is everyone who bought this drive is in an uphill battle to get it repaired...
Retailers do get them cheaper. But by agreement with Apple, they are not ALLOWED to sell them cheaper.
If they do, then Apple stops selling to them.
that's why it's hard to find a deal and you have to resort to the target 10% trick get one cheaper.
Nice answer. Of course you have to understand that the only place it says 5 year warranty is on the outer shell of the box. (A removable outer shell) No where else does it say 5 year. The web site says 1 year. The Drive Web site says 0 years. And the box itself contains a different Part...

Did you put in the Part Number on the box or the one on the drive?
On the Box I get 1 year instead of 5.
If I use the Drive SN/PN I get 0 (ZERO) warranty. It says your warranty is with the seller. (Best Buy). YUCK! I'm off to frys to get a drive with a warranty.
And they didn't even do anything to those people in the Mall who were selling that RipOff version of the original Nintendo a while ago.

I've had a 400:1 25ms (BenQ 1701 I think). It was so bad that I returned it, my eyes were hurting whenever I looked at it too long.
Get the too bad the FPV is 25ms too. 1000:1 was a good ratio.
