The 9700pro can be returned within 30 days, I've had it since Saturday. The tweak bios is something, having read the tweak bios = no RMA, that I would not consider doing. I hope I can get 1005g soon and I will see what that effect has. Plumed. 3.4 did nothing to improve the problem.

Thanks to all those who posted replies. I tried everything suggested and more besides. "The Beast" does not seem to want to play so I'm typing this message on "venus". You can really tell the performance difference between a 3gig pentium and and AthlonXP 2200+ when reading a forum, not! :)...
