All indications as of now are that Amazon is not part of the `Level Up' promotion yet(*), so don't expect to get Tomb Raider if you order one from them.
Other than that, it's supposed to be a nice card. It's got a reference 7970 PCB with one of the power phases missing (5+1). There's a huge...

While the original version of the X-850 was a great PSU, this is the updated version...
I had a corsair AX760 in my cart all last week, but could never pull the trigger since it was a little too expensive and I didn't really need 760 watts, so this is perfect!
Ah, the `good old days!' (Circa 1980.)
I started out with Atari Basic, enhanced with some inline 6502 routines and full on 6502 assembly eventually. Moved on to Turbo Pascal on a Z80 CP/M machine (Franklin ACE 1000!) and then on DOS on an old PC XT. Turbo Pascal was pretty awesome and super...
Yup. Powercolor x1900xt OEM for $434:

Retail for $5 more:

Actually, there are a bunch at around $440 on newegg.
If you're going to buy one from Monarch...
I don't think that these are `dropping' from $200, I think that this is where they retail at, or at least close. The MSRP on that card at newegg is $149.99:
http://www.evga.com/products/moreinfo.asp?pn=256-P2-N549-TX
Remember, these are the 7600 GS model, not the GT.
That means...
Hey, how about this one?
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814102697
A Sapphire X1800XT w/512MB for $339.00. Apparently the price cuts that ATI announced at cebit finally made it through to newegg. =)
Newegg must have just barely gotten them in stock. They still show up as `auto-notify' when I search for them, but are orderable from the item page.
I'm still amazed that the price for their 490/1300MHz 4800 GTX is $519, but the 500/1500MHz 7900 GT is $309. The shipping is almost a buck...
I think that the main bonus of the extreme version is that you're `guaranteed' that it'll do those frequencies. The cards are identical though, so that means that they're doing some speed binning along the way, so the more expensive ones are likely to overclock better. It's a lot like buying a...
Ok, so it's not the fastest 7900 GT on the block, but it's currently in stock and below MSRP:
http://www.zipzoomfly.com/jsp/ProductDetail.jsp?ProductCode=321062&ps=ho4
This is the XFX PV-T71G-UDF7 GeForce 7900 GT PCI Express 256MB DDR3 Video Card
470MHz core, 1370MHz memory, $289.99...
Nope, it means that this morning the $50 rebate turned into a $30 rebate. =( Dammit.
So the XTX is $469 AR now.
The XT was $418 AR last night ($60 rebate). It's now $448 AR.
Their other prices aren't all that great...they've got a Gainward 6800NU for $439.99. It's got to be a price mistake.
*edit* granted...I'm still tempted to order one and see what happens...although I did just see this at the bottom of one of their pages: "Prices are subject to change without...
That's a hell of a lot better than the $699.00 eVga, or ASUS Ultra that ZipZoomFly is selling...
What the hell is up with that? 40% above retail?
See, the outpost.com price is a huge deal! $200 off!
Good question. I saw this card and it looks prefect! It's got a better-than-stock cooler, 256MB of GDDR3, just like the GT, and a reasonable bundle...but only 12 pipes? And for the same price as a real GT? Give me a break.
MSI has great support too. I had an old Geforce4 Ti4400 die on me, a month after it's 2 year full warranty (2 year parts/labor, 3 year parts) was up. I filled out their RMA forms and sent it in, expecting to be billed for the labor, but instead was sent back a 5900 XT and not charged anything...
Wow...I'd probably have to say System Shock 2. Oh man...really scared the hell out of me.
Other than that, playing AvP 2 as a human was pretty damned scary. I had to stop playing one night when I went to the bathroom and could still hear the motion sensor beep as I walked down the hall...
Standard shipping. It shipped from Mira Loma, CA on the 27th.
The `auto overclock' only came in at 378/1080 though. =( Oh well...it still completely demolishes my 9800 pro.
Mine showed up this afternoon. The order still says `Sent to Warehouse' on the order status page and `On Order.'
I guess I can always hope that they don't ever bother to charge me for it. =) I'm tempted to click the `Cancel Item' button, but since I'm actually glad that they sent me one, I...
Anyone else notice that the PNY 6800 GT (for $449.99 now! oh, but you do get _free_ shipping!) is showing up as `In Stock: Usually ships in 1 to 2 business days.'?
My order status still shows as `On Order', I haven't gotten any e-mails and my card hasn't been charged. Then again, people are...
Dammit!
I was right in the middle of checking out and got pulled off to look at something for maybe 10 minutes, came back and it's OOS.
That's two 6800 GT deals that I've missed due to actually trying to be a productive employee (missed the BestBuy deal because I ended up working on some...
PNY's got the same picture for all their 6800 cards (Ultra, GT and non-ultra).
From what it looks like, the picture is of their 6800 Ultra. I really doubt that they've got a GT with dual-DVI.
Like Kaido said...don't worry if you didn't get in on this.
Not only are the cars boring to drive, but you've got a 2 minute time limit. If anyone's actually been able to get the Prius around the track in 2 minutes, my hat's off to you! I'm about 2-3 seconds too slow still, including taking...
Mine had the same date! Mine didn't have the footer though...no mention of when I bought the RAM (which also happened to be the 14th!).
The rebate said that you could send in the packing slip or the invoice, so I sent in a copy of my order confirmation/status page from Kingston. They better...
Here's the news story from gamespot about finger(er just Thumb?)printing people.
(yes, I agree that it's pretty severe. it sounds like the stores were being a little over-zealous in their interpretation of some laws originally aimed at pawn shops.)
When I went to trade in my old PS2 at my local gamestop a while back, the manager hooked it up and tested it, the power cord and the controller with a couple games. She also checked it out all over to make sure that all the seals were intact and that it hadn't been modded. A real pain in the...
Hey guys, if you didn't get in on this...don't worry.
I just got my disc yesterday. Boy is it boooring. Only two cars (Prius and some concept racing car) and two tracks (Fuji and the Grand Canyon). Ok...not too bad so far, except that you've got a 2 minute time limit and the Prius was NOT...
Hmm...interesting.
My online order status is now back to `estimated shipping date' instead of `shipped on'.
I guess I can wait one more day to see what bizzare things will happen then.
Hey, how about this crap that I got when I sent an e-mail asking to cancel the order:
Hello ...,
Thank you for your e-mail. I understand from your e-mail that you want
to confirm about the cancellation of the order number XXXXXX.
..., I appreciate the opportunity to assist you with this...
The most annoying part of all of this is the complete lack of communication involved. Not to mention the seemingly outright BS comming from gateway.
I checked my order this morning and, wonder of wonders(!), it shipped on the 10th! After calling the CS number, I was told that the order was in...
Hmm...mine's still `order pending'.
I did place my order after the page was pulled though (I had one in my cart when they pulled it), so we'll see if it actually comes through.
Then again, the new Nvidia drivers are supposed to be out today...maybe once we see some new benchmark numbers for...
It looks like Dell is trying to kill this one. I went back to check Dell's site and I'm getting an error trying to get to the x800 product page. A search finds the card, but clicking on the link, or trying to add it to my cart I get an error message.
ie. "We're sorry that we could not find...
Is it worth voiding your warranty to try out the mod? I'm pretty sure that ATI won't replace your card if it dies and there's a huge scratch between those two points on your GPU. ;)
