    Creating your own Start>Run keywords

I remember some time back I read a quick trick that would allow you to do what Windows system components do, i.e. much like how you can go to Start>Run and type "regedit" to get the registry editor, you could make your own shortcuts in a directory, and Windows would look there as well to find...

Failure to use designated lane ticket on NY Thruway

I was going at a passing speed, and I was wearing my seat belt :)

Failure to use designated lane ticket on NY Thruway

The tailgate for a truck is higher up than on a car, and police cruisers aren't exactly tall vehicles. Also, I was going at a decent passing speed. I wasn't squatting in the left lane, I was following the traffic that existed at the time in the left lane.

Failure to use designated lane ticket on NY Thruway

Thing is though, I wasn't going 65 in the left lane. I was going at around 75, which is hardly an annoyance for anyone trying to get anywhere. The highway was clear, and I was following a car in front of me.

Failure to use designated lane ticket on NY Thruway

Noone else in the car noticed either (my parents were with me in the car) until he pulled up beside us. Also, my point was that there were no signs saying I wasn't allowed in the left hand lane in the area - I specifically looked for those signs after I got back onto the road and there were...

Failure to use designated lane ticket on NY Thruway

I'm wondering too, I asked the cop and he had no idea. It's a matter of principle really. Is this sarcasm? The truck was loaded with under 200 pounds of stuff all total, securely packed. The only issue was that the center mirror's visibility was obscured, which was made up for by the side...

    The word Midget

"Midget" is actually a proper term, I think. It's also different from "dwarf," so learn the difference, and when people get uppity about your use of either of those words, you can pull out the old pretention card on them

Failure to use designated lane ticket on NY Thruway

I saw the thread about contesting the $700 ticket in a search, but that was a few days old and I didn't really want to revive a dead thread. Anyways, if this thread irritates you, then sorry, and eat me :P Just kidding. Please help :brokenheart: Anyways, yesterday I was driving on the NY...

    This is ridiculous!

Here (not ridiculous) Opera, however, if left open for too long (i.e. upwards of 2-3 hours), can sometimes balloon to around 100-120mb RAM usage (but that's still with 5-6 tabs open)

Serious question. . . Weird taste in mouth?

Is this a taste far in the back of your mouth? Might be tonsilloliths (tonsil stones). Otherwise, just try to brush your tongue after you brush your teeth - plaque can build up on the tongue in the same/greater amounts than on your teeth. That white junk on your tongue is plaque and food...

WTF Does this meeting "Pre-Work" Mean?

Pre : before Work : stuff that needs to be done. class pre-work would then be "stuff that needs to be done before class", then, right? And then right there in the second sentence, it says You will need to arrive in the class ready to present a business related topic of your choice. what...

Sign a petition to air Top Gear in America

It's based on what you do with it. As it is, a Top Gear executive's probably not going to be browsing Petition Online, but the originator of this petition plans to print out/mail and email this to the BBC (he's from OffTopic.com and there is a thread there also). Besides, it can't hurt, and...

Sign a petition to air Top Gear in America

Imagine you're a station manager, and one day in the mail you get a box with a stack of papers with signatures on them, signatures ten thousand strong, all asking for one show to be aired on one of your stations. It would be pretty hard to turn that down, no? It's already got 900 signatures in...

Sign a petition to air Top Gear in America

Well, as we all know, lots and lots of people in America, many on these forums, enjoy the humor and wit of the British car show Top Gear, as well as the cars and so on. But we've been forced to download the show (albeit from a very fast and awesome DeviousTrap server :D), but the ultimate...

1st person ever survives rabies infection without vaccine. . .

Ironically, I believe that in the mid-1980s, there was a man infected with ebola, and survived after several weeks in quarantine. In addition, there are women in Africa who work in that "special" industry who have been found to be immune to AIDS - i.e., they come into contact with HIV but do...

    Travis' or Travis's

Actually I'm pretty sure the grammatical rules allow for either. I was always taught Travis', but it seems that now to simplify things "they" are allowing one to just add apostrophe-S to anything to make it possessive.
