looks like it got the wan ip ip - 76.104.x.x subnet - 255.255.254.0 router - 76.104.2.1 (this is different from the actual IP above) dns - 75.75.75.75

just checked out the settings on the modem and it's enabled to be a DHCP server... no way to disable that. Shouldn't DHCP be left to the router while the modem simply grabs the WAN IP, or am I misunderstanding what it being a DHCP server means? perhaps that just means being able to pull the IP...

I'm expecting something along the lines of IP: 192.168.1.110 DG: 192.168.1.1 DNS: 192.168.1.1 but am getting IP: 192.168.100.10 DG: 192.168.100.1 DNS: 0.0.0.0 The router range is 192.168.1.100 through 192.168.1.150. I know 192.168.100.1 is the address of the modem, but I don't understand...

I feel pretty stupid having to ask for help on this but I give up trying to figure this crap out... any input would be much appreciated. TLDR: devices on a basic switch can't access the internet. IP's are out of scope, dns is blank, gateway is incorrect... points to a 192.168.100.x network...

From everything I've read, those drives pose a HIGH risk for failure, not to mention heat, noise, and performance issues. I'll take a smaller, better drive for the same amount.

What do you mean you can't find it? And if you want higher than 1280 then yes, the resolution is too low. If you're broke and don't need a $1000 monitor that can run 2800x1800 then this is still a pretty good dea ;)

It's not on the website for some reason, I dunno why... But like I said, I bought one and have the reciept in hand to prove it with the deal, and I have 3 on hold at other stores, so call your local store and ask them to look for the AOC 195F... They can check the rest of the district for you...

ok, memtest ran for 5 hours with 0 errors... In the configuration if I change "memory sizing" from "Bios-Std" (the default) to "Bios-All", I get a ton of errors though... Although I got errors at locations at 4076mb and such, so I wonder if that just tests all the slots and the errors are a...

rgr, they weren't. A cpu upgrade fell into my lap last year :) Good to know, now that I've scoured my house for a non-corrupt floppy I can FINALLY run the stupid test. I'll head to Fry's for a new stick while it runs.

I originally had an 1800, but I got a 2800 awhile ago... didn't think that was relevant to the stability of the system. Downloaded and testing now edit -- and the system ALWAYS crashes within 3-4 hours btw, it just does it much quicker when I try to actually do stuff.

Added specs to original post. I've been running this system stable as could be for about 6 years. The PSU I just replaced not even a year ago (antec 400w), and my mobo was working fine, just changed because it was suggested that it was the root of my problem. I might think the RAM, but...
