Help! 3 of 4 pcs connect to internet using linksys router

If you think you have a fast rig check this out!

Warcon, Are you using the CLI or the GUI? The command line interface is a little bit faster than the GUI, I think...Any Seti gurus out there? Anyhow, here's a bump for a good cause... :D

Ok, thanks for all the input people. I have an old pc just collecting dust so I think I may go with the linux solution. As far as Freesco, that is just a small linux distro used specifically for routing, right? I think I will be better off with a more mainstream distro like Mandrake or Red...

Is BlackIce a poor personal firewall?

I'm probably way over my head here, but what about Tiny Personal Firewall? Tiny Software is free for personal use and they have some pricing info for commercial use on their website. It has remote administration, password protection so users can't change the settings, and logging capabilities...

Advice: 750@900 Duron temp/vcore/etc on A7V133

Sup frizzle! Came across your post and had to add my $.02 To my understanding, if you set the board to 133 via jumper, then the pci divider should change to 1/4 instead of the normal 1/3 on a 100mhz fsb. Someone correct me if I am wrong, but I'm pretty sure that is how my Iwill board works so...

recommend hsf

I haven't heard about the taisol clip problem, but I could be wrong cause I don't own one. I've only read about them. I do have a Globalwin WBK38 and the clip is also kinda tough to put on. I know that amd requires a certain amount of pressure for the clip and HSF so that may be the reason...

recommend hsf

Taisol makes some nice quiet ones that perform pretty well. If your not going to OC, why not just use the stock HSF? If you bought an oem cpu, then I would go with a taisol for low noise and good performance.

MSN internet opinions

How long is the contract? Do you really want to be stuck on a dial-up contract for another 2-3 years? Have you thought of going broadband? Just a few questions to think about before you make a decision. IMHO the software that comes with the MSN Internet stuff, MSN Explorer 6.0 or something...

The hidden cost of participating in distributed projects

Pretty interesting...although $28 bucks a year to help find a cure for cancer or support an addiction (Seti or RC5) is a drop in the bucket if you ask me. Good information though. Thanks. :)

What kind of printer do you have?

need a fan and a hs for a 1.4 t-bird

Plenty of good cooling choices out there. Personally, I have the Globalwin WBK w/ a ys-tech fan and it works fine on my 1ghz box. You may need something better, like the Taisol CGK760092. If you have the money, the Swifttech MC462A is another good solution. Just try a search for more opinions...

Which OS for my system? 2000, ME, or 98SE?

Another vote for 2000 over here. I play CS and a few other games with no problems on Windows 2000. Plus you just can't beat the stability compared to the other OS's you mentioned.

I finally did a Slipstream of SP2

Zoltarc, Gotta make that CD bootable. This can be done using the instructions found here or here and also a CDRwin. Personally, I used the techguide, but other people have also mentioned the first link as well. Good luck!

AMD newbie question

I've got the globalwin wbk except I replaced the stock fan with a ys-tech 26 cfm fan. That along with using the 7v trick on some of my case fans helped bring down the noise level. My temps on a TBird 900@1020 under full load running RC5 are 46-49C with usually very little flucuation. I...
