Can someone explain the Quadro Line to me?

Just ran RivaTuner. My old 6800GT is now a new Quadro FX 4000! Inventor V10 runs great now (no BSOD). HL2 seems to run fine still. Thanks All.

Currently the latest (77.77), but Ive tried several older drivers with no luck. As I see it, Autodesk has decided to not go to the trouble of writing work-arounds for the gamer cards. From thier point of view if I've paid $4K for the software I should be able to pony up $1K for a video...

Autodesk cliams they don't support the 6800 (or any consumer level cards newer than the geforce4). It appears that they mean it as I get the blue screen of death with hints pointing to the video driver when inventor 10 tries to start. I've tried several different drivers with no change...

nv 5900 non-ultra: how quiet when not gaming?

I've got the Gainward FX5900 Golden Sample and I can't hear the fans at all. It's running reliably at 450 Mhz core and 900 Mhz mem.

XFX 5900 nu, and the band played on......

Truthfully I have no idea what the memory speed is supposed to be. Gainward says that the card is good for 440MHz core and 900MHz memory (which would indicate 2.2ns, but the default is 2.35ns (850Mhz)). So far I have inched my way up to 450MHz core and 900 MHz memory with things running rock solid.

Problem with Winfast 2000 XP....

I have about the same setup. When I reinstalled XP: I removed all unnecesary hardware (winfast 2000xp, soundcard, USB devices, card readers, etc), then installed XP, patches, and basic drivers. Then I installed hardware and drivers one piece at a time.

I got the GAINWARD FX5900 128MB 8X AGP DDR GOLDEN SAMPLE from MWAVE.COM for $239. It was worth it. This card rocks - and unlike ATI cards this one dosn't crash my system.

From the posts so far it sounds like everyone who is running memory faster than pc3200 is doing fine. I tried several brands and speeds and none of them would run at thier rated speed (some didn't even post). I returned the mobo.

Mine came with a couple of plastic bands around the box (maybe Fry's did this). Inside all of the ESD bags were just taped over, but the non ESD bags were sealed, and a fresh sticker across the PCI slots is proof that no one has used this board yet.

Gigabyte SINXP1394 Problems

Power supply is fine. First thing I checked. I'm begining to suspect it's a combination of a picky mobo and crappy memory from Fry's. I would have thought that the Mushkin memory would have worked though.
