    MSI P67A-GD65 - No love?

Didn't help us. Besides, it's not like you can flash it before getting it to work, anyway.

    MSI P67A-GD65 - No love?

Friend of mine just used this motherboard in a build he was doing and he's had massive problems with memory compatibility. After 5 different sets, we finally found a pair that works :\

Warm: Dell eIPS 21.5" 1080P LCD $209 shipped (+tax) AC

Yea, IPS monitors without a polarizer will have a glow on black\dark images when viewed even from a slight angle. Also, the 2209WA might be 16:10, but higher resolution is higher resolution. 1920x1080 > 1680x1050 (though, 1920x1200 > both)

11/4 only Newegg 20% off Antec PSU - HOT pricing on TruePower New

Great timing for this. I just sold my 400W Corsair because it got a little loud at 75% load. This 650W should be similar in quality +modular +quieter :)

G.SKILL Phoenix Pro Series 2.5" 120GB SATA II MLC Internal SSD for $198 at NewEgg

What is that based on? It could simply be that OCZ has a higher sales volume, which wouldn't be too hard to believe.

    Patriot 4GB DDR3 1600MHz fo $49.99 after MIR @ Fry's

Take note that these require 1.8v to run, which is definitely on the high side. Most sticks these days are 1.65v (to meet Intel Core i7 requirements) or 1.5v.

Intel to offer 'unlock codes' to increase processor performance

Well, yes, they are a for-profit business. Most i7 parts are binned for demand, not because most of them can't meet a higher end specification. It's just how it is and has been for awhile. This just offers a way for non-overclockers to increase performance without making them swap out the entire...

Intel to offer 'unlock codes' to increase processor performance

I'm surprised there isn't a thread here about this, so...here it is! The story: http://www.engadget.com/2010/09/18/intel-wants-to-charge-50-to-unlock-stuff-your-cpu-can-already-d/ I don't think this is a huge deal as it's already somewhat done with chip binning. This will just allow the average...

    Corsair 650TX PSU $52

Oh, that's terrible and not something I expect from Corsair. I found this thread regarding it with what seems to be a Corsair employee stating that they did indeed change it, but also claims the new model is slightly better, even if it's based on a completely different platform...

    Corsair 650TX PSU $52

Yea, lower efficiency on the bottom end is the one possible downside. This 650W PSU in particular only reaches 81% when there's a load of 90W or greater: http://www.silentpcreview.com/article813-page4.html ...but it's the same case with the 400W model...

    Corsair 650TX PSU $52

I had a self-discovery kind of moment the other day. While it's true that most PCs use 300-350W of power under maximum load and thus a 400W power supply perfectly meets their needs, some PSUs get annoyingly loud when pushed at 70-80% of their output due to increased heat. If you are looking...

    EVGA GTX460 - $145 shipped!

I just ordered. $145 is a pretty damn nice deal! The OC edition is $10 more. Worth it? Edit: Damn it, looks like I have two cards coming, now. I ordered the OC edition 5 minutes after ordering the regular version, and it's already too late to cancel. That's pretty shady :(

EVGA GT 240 $40 AR @ the egg

The rebate service eVGA uses is trying to screw me right now on the rebate I submitted for this card about 2 months ago. They say I submitted the wrong offer code on their website, yet the paper the website generated for the rebate after I entered the code has the proper offer number. Meh.

    EVGA GT240 DDR5 1gb $59.99 or 512MB $29.99 after MIR

Whoops, I guess I meant the 8800GTS as Roads pointed out :) Still an incredible value. Anandtech didn't like the card when priced at $100 because it was too much. For $30, it's really nice.
  26. A

    EVGA GT240 DDR5 1gb $59.99 or 512MB $29.99 after MIR

The 240GT 512MB is a great card for the price. Very similar in performance to an 8800GT while using very little power under load and one of the lowest power consuming cards at idle. The 1GB variant is a waste since you will run into GPU performance issues before running out of 512MB of memory.

Audio dropping out on HDMI connection with 5850

Well, it could upmix the 2.0 source to emulated 5.1 using Dolby but that wouldn't be nearly as good as true 5.1.
  28. A

Audio dropping out on HDMI connection with 5850

No, you'd want to connect it directly to your receiver. As far as I know, optical out on TV sets only do 2.0 unless it's ATSC 5.1 from broadcast TV. It's a DRM issue, not a technical one, since using that method would completely invalidate HDCP because optical audio has no encryption.

Fastest/Best SDD for "XP only" user ??

The X25V has even worse performance than the already surpassed X25M G2 series. I'd spend the extra cash to get more space and better speed with the X25M G2 80GB drive. If you absolutely need to stay under $150, consider an OCZ Agility or Vertex drive instead.

cheapest video card w/ HDMI that carries video AND audio?

HDMI can do like 100ft and maybe longer if you have a repeater. USB is shorter at about 10-15 feet depending on power requirements.
