You wont really need 802.11a unless you actually do use 802.11a at work or in your home. Most hot spots and areas will use 802.11b, hopefully soon 802.11g. So you may want to save some $ if you just get a b card. best question to ask yourself is, how often do i run into places with 802.11a.

i move about 80 degrees and the color is distorted. you know what? I bought a windows laptop because i thought i wanted to continue to use windows for my software i need. I'm strongly looking into a powerbook again, because of the annoying things on this ibm.

ok im trying out the wireless connection at my neighbors now and it is working great. I had some probs getting it to work the first time i used it, but now it worked on the first try! this may have been due to user error though...HAH. as for the noise i previously had when i web browsed...

Questions for IBM T40 owners

Response: 1) I do not notice any movement in my battery when it is in. Though i do have the 9 cell one. 2) I didn't get a cover over my modem either. 3) My cable seems to be in the middle. I don't think you need to worry, because you do have a 3 year warranty =).
