Canterwood, Radeon and Win 98SE not compatible?

You're right. I did install the Intel Chipset drivers, figuring that they would take care of issues, but someone mentioned to me it does not force of HT. Fixed it by just turning off HT when booting into 98SE and turning on when booting into XP. thanks,

Repair acrylic and aluminum scratches?

Just finishing up a Lian-Li aquarium case with custom fans, lighting, sleeving etc. Have one nasty 1 inch scratch on acrylic window and several small scratches on aluminum. Best repair methods?

Abit IC7-G gets slammed on Tom's i875P round up.

I have always like AT site and reviews better from the getgo. I will be interested in how the IC7-G rates since I was excited about it until I actually tried to use it. It just was flaky from the getgo. If only the Gigabyte 8A-KNXGP had the same rear I/O connectors as they Abit, I would think...

Abit IC7-G gets slammed on Tom's i875P round up.

I kind of agree with Tom's review. I returned my Abit after it died during a BIOS flash. I was using Kingston ECC DDR400 which it did not like, had boot problems etc. I replaced it with a Gigabyte board, same memory and CPU and it was happy, even with the first BIOS. The ICG-7 has nice specs...

GA-8KNXP ITE Raid Problems

UPDATE: GigaRAID just was never happy with WD drives and large files copies. Bought SIG SATA adapters and both drives are happy on the SI SATA. My guess is a BIOS update will be required to fix it.

I got Gigabyte on the phone and talked to them for a few minutes. They think it's a jumper setting related to single drive vs. cable select. I will try this evening.

PS. board was dead, got Gigabyte today, came right up with same CPU, RAM, PSU etc. BIOS flash freeze must have killed it.

Help! IC7-G + 3 Ghz 800FSB = 1.5 Ghz lock on boot

Board appeared to be completely dead - tried it with just PSU, no fans, no error code. RMA to newegg.com - IC7-G is out of stock, so I'm getting a Gigabyte instead...newegg charged no restocking since I reordered from them.

newegg has the gigabyte for $250 (in stock) and the abit for $229 (ETA 5-1). I can't find the Intel board anywhere reputable or stock. The other issue is I do need 2 firewire ports, so I would have to add that to the Intel board... "The Canterwood Dilemma" - sound like a 50's british spy novel :)
