9700 Pro AIW + ZM80A-HP?

i'd say "no". but since i havent tried it myself i can't be sure. i almost purchased the heat pipe but am a little hesitant b/c of that huge tv tuner component.

Which LCDs now come with a 16ms response time or better?

i've had my viewsonic vp171b(~$500 shipped) for about a week now, purchased site unseen from newegg. the pic quality is absolutly *great* running through dvi. my original pick was the nec 1760v(~$400 shipped) (no dvi). the local microcenter has 2 on display, one plugged into a splitter and...

Where is the best place to get Radeon 9700Pro?

or you could goto compusa pick it up @ retail and purchase the $40 "replacement warranty" and when doom3 comes out you take it back and get the newest and bestest at no extra cost. :D

Recommend a TFT for gaming please.....

nec 1760 series ~$400+ viewsonic vp171 series ~$500 both do 1280x1024 with 16ms response rates i have the viewsonic coming in hopefully by the end of the week. <cross fingers>

whoa, wait a minute. so with my setup of 2 17" 1280x1024 lcds... i can span across both displays with just the radeon 9700 pro? plug one lcd->vga and the other->dvi resulting in a 2560x1024 desktop? AgaBooga i considered matrox but am not willing to sacrifice gaming performance...

oh. now that i know what they are .. found the 2.4ghz 800fsb for $219 @ googlegear. :D i'm going with the 'g' for the extra raid options .. the gigE is just sugar on top. :D thx for the heads up!

How long do CRT monitors last?

i've had very bad experiences with viewsonic. mine went out after warranty(3years) and a few months. my mom experienced the same timeframe/failure, as did my friend. 3 different models from 3 different years. whereas my generic is still going strong after 4+ years. what gives? :confused...

AthlonXP thx for the tip. :D mechBgon coming from a box full of scsi drives i didnt even consider noise. hrm. food for thought. floppy smloppy, i totally forgot about it. heh. FishTankX that's the idea. i hope it works out well with the hauppauge tuner. <cross fingers>

oh wow. that viewsonic is beautiful. here it is for $495. clicky the extra $100 over the nec1760v gets dvi and pivot. worth it imo.

well .. my goal was to slap a dual display capable / tv capture capable card into the pci slot. that leaves me free to fill the agp slot with whatever my credit card can stomach. the result being the best of all worlds: ie: excellent gaming performance, pvr and a 3 headed monster. :D...

1st post! well, i'm on the build path to replace my prehistoric p3 350. :D i'll be demanding a lot from this new rig (gaming!, vid edit, pvr, coding etc). so... i'm considering options of a 3 display approach. is the following feasible? primary/agp: ati 9600+ pro or equivalent (doom3!!!)...
