badthad, did your friend upgraded the BIOS to 1.4? I had the message "DISK BOOT FAILURE, INSERT BOOT DISK" randomly after upgraded to 1.4.(no such problem using 1.3 though). had to do the Ctrl-Alt-Del to reboot and then it is okay...
I got 4500-4600 memory score with the same hardware as yours, 2.4C (not o/c) 2x2567 Corsair 3500C2PT (1:1 @ 2.5-8-3-3), when I o/c it to 250 FSB with timing 2-3-2-5 (5:4), I got 5300-5400.
just for you guys information, I got my temp at 37C when idle and 57C when running prime95 for 12 hours...
2.4C o/c to 3.0 (fsb250) @ 1.575V
2x256MB Corsair 3500C2 (5:4) @ 2.7V
Albatron GFX 5600
jfano, what voltage are you setting the cpu at? I set mine to default and o/c to 250fsb, ram ratio (5:4) @ 2-3-2-5 at 2.7V, 3dmark2001 & 3dmark2003 went through okay but Prime95 just reported an error within 5 minutes, would you tell me your hardware setting in detail??
Mine:
Abit IC7-G
P4...
I've made up my mind too.... ABIT IC7-G. I read from the MSI forum that lots of people getting dead mobo after flashing BIOS to either 1.3 or 1.4...
Just one question, should I go for the Corsair XMS3500C2 or TWIN3200LL ??
I heard from friends that if you're going to use the IC7-G with a P4c (800Mhz) and no SATA raid stuff, the board works rock solid. The MSI 875P Neo is just a nightmare... expecting you're gotta have a lot of h/w swapping & testing to do whenever you do a BIOS flash... but even worse... a dead...
I got this from my friend and I was told it was from Intel:
The correct driver installation order is as follows:
1 Fresh Operating System Installation
2 Latest Service Pack or Patch
3 Intel(R) Chipset Software Installation Utility (INF Utility)
4 All other device drivers
5 Intel(R)...
Thanks :) , just want to confirm from what I read from the net:
V1.0 oc working but not promise RAID config.
V1.1 oc not working
V1.2 oc not working
How about V1.32???
Seems like I am very much having the same feeling with you guys... can't make up my mind... Abit IC7-G or MSI 875P Neo-FIS2R??
However, I read many posts in abit forum... people are having problem with the BIOS....
