Official - ABIT AT8 Crossfire Thread -

I have not had any issues with two 74GB or 150GB Raptors in RAID 0 or 0+1 on this board. I can assure you that the official 1.1 bios coming out shortly solves the majority of memory issues (also updates the RAID ROM) on the board and provides a performance increase as well. ;)

How come nobody here talks about Presler?

That is on air. I had no issue getting our 955EE to run on air at 4.63GHz (1.39V,61c load,benchmark stable) on the Biostar board after the last bios update, which incidently will take the 950D to the 4.7GHz range without an issue.

Thermaltake CL-P0114, GIGABYTE G-Power GH-PDU21-SC, and GIGABYTE GH-PDU21-MF with Arctic Silver Ceramique Thermal Compound (works better than the Silver 5 on the Prescotts). You have to apply it properly and in this case, less is more beneficial.

I do not have these issues with the Pentium D systems and while Creative can be blamed for almost anything that has gone wrong in the computing world their current drivers are actually very good compared to other audio suppliers. The X2 has some issues, deal with it like I do, its not like...

What is your MCH voltage? You go a lot further on the Intel chipsets with the MCH turned up than the voltage on the CPU. What are your memory settings? There are a number of issues that could be hurting your abilities to reach a higher FSB and without knowing your board it is hard to help...

I knew you had the older version, mine did the same until 1.30. :beer: However, the processor does not throttle since it never gets above 55c. Trust me on this, sometimes bigger is not better on heatsink/fan solutions.

The first two numbers I posted are 820D chips. I can run any game, application, or benchmark I know of at this time. I threw in the 840EE as a comparison. I would not call the Big Typhoon nor the Fortron 450 quality components but that is my opinion. I certainly would change power supplies...

Pentium D temps way too high.

I can run the 820D at 3.738 at 1.45v 24/7 with out an issue. I can run it at 3.850 at 1.4875v with out an issue on air and never exceed 55c. I run the 840EEs at 4.0~4.2 on 1.45v and have yet to exceed 53c on air. The secret is the power supply, good board, cooling, and the MCH voltage.

1. Too much paste will cause your issue. The stock hsf is not always flat, had to slightly sand two of them to fit properly. You need very little paste, bb's worth on the cpu, spread several times, cleanse it, and also spread some extra on the hsf and remove with a lint free cloth. That will...

Best Pentium-D motherboard?

How much do you want to spend on the motherboard? What type of processor do you have? The best way to increase performance with the current Intel platform is drop the mulitiplier, increase the fsb, and run the memory as close to a 1:1 ratio as possible at the lowest latency possible.

Half-life 2 Performance: Breaking news

Hilbert has not posted the benchmarks without AA/AF enabled. We also do not know the card settings and what driver optimizations have been made for this benchmark. Until the details are available I would not count on this test yet.

WTH? GFFXU beats out ATI?

I had an 1600 point increase in my 3DMark 2003 scores when moving from the 43.00 back to the 42.68 they tested. These scores are driver related as the images produced by the 43.00 are better in real games compared to the 42.68 drivers. It does not matter in the end as my GFX5800 is going back...

Heh, I represent that remark. I do have 9800Pros coming but wanted to try this Nvidia system as my house needs a good spring cleaning. I have one working now and will have the other up and running shortly I hope. I still have to get clearance from the power company and air traffic control. ;)

You need to install the F5 bios. EasyTune 4 works properly on this board. Also make sure you have the lastest version of EasyTune4.
