Will a GTX 460 be bottlenecked by a Core2 E8400?

Thanks for the replies. My buddy lent me the card when he upgraded his rig -- just wondering how much good it would do me, as I'm debating upgrading now or waiting a few months for the new intel CPU's to launch

Do you guys use the "safely remove usb device" option in windows for thumb drives?

So long as the drive isn't in the process of being accessed or written to, you can yank it out no problem.

Old Dell P4 2.8.. Use it for HTPC? Can it do everything?

The problem will be heat. I have a P4 2.6C and the thing can touch 80 degrees centigrade with an aftermarket cooler and arctic silver 5 on it. Those chips just run incredibly hot.

Anecdotal evidence at best I would say regarding the desktop chips. People are trying to infer things based on the fact that Xeon's are server chips and thus go through mor rigorous testing.

I started a thread more than a week ago about excaliburPC having the chips in stock for a decent price. They delivered mine in 3 days and upgraded me from OEM to retail free of charge. I haven't gotten to fire my chip up yet, but no complaints on the customer service side of things.

Recommendations on a good DVI KVM

I'm building a second rig and want to turn my current box, a 2.8C with 1.5 gigs of ram into a team fortress 2 dedicated server. This obviously doesn't require its own full time monitor, keyboard, and mouse, so I'm looking for anyone who has some experience with a reasonably priced yet effective...

It looks like I ordered my chip at their OEM price and they ran out of OEM chips and just sent me a retail box. Lucky me. The Xeon 3110 is probably the worst kept secret on the net right now if you read the right sites but many people, both consumer and retailer, still haven't picked up on it yet.

Looking for a 6800GT AGP Video Card
