    Since you don't mention the OS, I'll make the jump and assume you're running Windows 2000 server or later. What I'd do with 2000, is get it up and running again in the "old" configuration, long enough to BACKUP, and then run "Sysprep". You should shut it down, then install the hard drives...

    Removing a HSF is nothing. It takes like 2 minutes. Unscrew it (if it's a screw down type) or unclip it if it's not. If you have installed HSFs before, you can remove them too.

    You won't be able to put your 9600 Pro in it. No AGP slot. It's only got a PCI-Express slot. You could get that computer with the integrated video and then add a PCI-E video card of your choosing, if it's a good deal. Go look for a 6600GT. That's a good PCI-E video card that's not too expensive.

    Just to make sure it got installed right, I'd download the newest 4in1 and install them again. Make sure the AGP driver is installed in "turbo". I *think* it still gives that option (I haven't used a via chipset in a while, but from what I remember, that was the install if you wanted 8x AGP)...
