Using both RealVNC and Remote desktop problem

If I connect to my computer with remote desktop it works fine, but if I exit remote desktop and try to connect with realvnc it's all black. Any ideas?

Low 3dmark score?

600MHz? Where were you during math class? =) His CPU = 3275 MHz, mine is 3000, so his CPU is 275MHz faster than mine.

If I go into display settings->advanced->Adapter the adapter string says radeon 9800 pro.. strange? Should fast write be on or off? it's off right now.. Texture Quality and Mipmap Detail level are both on high quality. I will try to post my results when I run the test again, I have to go to...

Low 3dmark score?

I didn't build the computer myeslf unfortunately =/ It's from Fujitsu-Siemens so I'm not entirely sure of what all the parts actually are.

I just got my new computer and figured I'd get a pretty impressive 3dmark 2001 score. So I ran it at default with AF & AA, truform etc. settings set to application preference in the display settings. My score was 14500 or something like that. Isn't that kind of low with my computer? Check out my...

Rebooting through remote desktop

My friend had a menu in the task manager where he had the option to reboot/logoff etc. And he's running XP Pro too, but the swedish version. Really strange...

It doesn't work =/ The computer I'm connecting to is behind a gateway (I'm connecting over the internet), maybe thats the problem..

Should I partition my hard drive ?

I have a list of things to backup which I resort to whenever it's time to format. Then if I notice that I forgot something after i formatted, it gets added to the list. Workspretty good for me :)

Doesn't the FS mobos come with temperature sensors? I have tried using both motherboard monitor and hardware sensors monitor, but neither of them gave me any temp readings,..,

Harddrive became 8GB smaller

I think I'll just put it away. I RMA'd that disk about a month ago and I have to send in the whole computer to get it replaced, and that just a big pain in the ass, especially since a new 40GB disk costs pretty much nothing ;)

hd crash.... grr!

I was going to put my old harddrives on my new computer last night, and of course one of them crashed. When I try to recovery my data using a program called getdataback I get some errors saying i/o error can't read from drive or something like that. Do you think there is any other program that...

What is audigy2 listed as in device manager?

I have an audigy2 sound board, but in device manager it only lists as soundblaster audigy. Shouldn't it say audigy2? And where can I download those drivers with all the setup programs and stuff? You know that window with EQ settings and things. I couldn't find it on their homepage, only found...

Remote Desktop reboot problem

When I connect to my home computer from work using remote desktop, I can't reboot. I can go into the windows security and select shutdown->restart, but it just goes back to the desktop. It won't restart.. Does anyone know why and how I can restart it?

If I went to windows security I could select reboot, but when I did nothing happened. I installed some drivers and it asked if I wanted to reboot and I answered yes, but it didn't reboot anyway.

I was wondering how you reboot throught remote desktop in windows xp? My friend is running the swedish version of XP and has a menu option for rebooting in task manager, I don't have that menu however, and on the startmenu I can only select disconnect. Any ideas??

right click the taskbar and click properties, then check the tab advanced, there is an option there to clear the recent docs..

this is a common problem in windows xp and there is a fix for it, search the forums or google. windows xp avi file fix or something like that :-) I just helped a guy here at the office with that yesterday :-)

Should I upgrade!

I like trying out new operating systems so I'd probably go for it. But check out what features XP has compared to WinME, and decide if you really need them. If you do, go ahead and install it :-) But if your system is working fine and you're happy with it, why not keep it until something goes wrong?

I would like an optical wireless mouse, and I'm not sure which one to buy. I like the mx700, but if there is another cheaper option I wouldn't mind, the mx700 is a bit pricey. I heard that the microsoft intellimouse explorer is a little sluggish and that its batteries deplete quickly. So do you...

How often do you format?

I have Win2k and it doesn't come with msconfig so I didn't know that it existed. I have downloaded the XP version of msconfig however and installed it here, and it's a great program :-)

I have a 140W PSU and I have: Celeron 900, Geforce2mx400, 392MB SDRAM, 1x18GB, 1x80GB, 1x40GB 7200rpm drives, soundcard, 32x cd-r floppy etc. the normal stuff :-) Haven't had any stability problems at all :-)
