I thought H-L2 at E3 was run with a prototype Radeon 9800 with a 256 MB DDR2-module on it. And it didn't run THAT well (detail at max 6x FSAA and all)...whatever I'll see it when it comes out. I'll even buy it...98 days left...
I once flashed a new BIOS on my overly expensive Asus A7-V motherboard. Put the FSB on 200 instead of 100...fried like a potatoe...boy did my head turn red then...everything else however miraculously survived...only the board fried...it's hanging on the wall next to this desk hehe...
I've got my original Asus A7-V which I fried once hanging on the wall with a working 800 MHz cpu on it. All my other old stuff still works and is boxed. A 286, a 486, my sister has the P120...going to build a 98se-based DOS-game system soon...still need some parts for that one...but hardly...
The Audigy can be very itchy. Are you using WindowsXP? Make sure SP-1's installed. Creative cards are also very annoying what ACPI and IRQs are concerned. I haven't had any trouble since I installed SP-1....I'm even running beta drivers at the moment. Before SP-1, I tried everything and nothing...
Hi this is my first post.
I've got a A7n8x pcb 1.04 with bios 1.004 and since I installed SP-1 for XP I've had 0 problems.
I'm planning on throwing in a 3200+ or switching to a P4 system with HT.
Sorry for being lame, BTW.
