Official! Dell 3007WFP monitor delayed to january 5th

i use a westinghouse 37" lcd and run windows at 1920*1080. it looks fantastic and I'll definetly go bigger if they release a bigger model. i dont have sli, just a single gtx. pretty much any game that's at least a year old will run at native res. newer games are too much for my pc at that...

19? LCD users ? Resolution Question

if you decrease the resolution, whether in games or windows, it'll function just fine, but it won't be as sharp. the reason for this is the lcd will scale anything you send to it's native resolution. this scaling will result in a softer image. outputting at native res avoids this.

it'll be fine. remember, your 17" crt has a viewing size of about 16", which means the lcd will be about 3" larger.

Should I enable CMSS-3D when watching DVDs?

i think it's pretty dumb that they have modes anyway. according to their official forum, the reasoning is to allocate more resources to the user's desired function. but, think about it. when the eax engine is being used, obviously allocate more resources for gaming. otherwise it's...

Xbox 360 wireless adapter proprietary?

they want you to buy their accessories. every console maker has done it. they don't care if you already have one, they just see the $$.. if you can find a wireless adapter that plugs into the ethernet jack, that'll work fine. the system will have no idea it's talking to a wireless adatper...

Is it worth getting a sound card for headset?

i have a laptop, so this may not apply, but I recently bought the Audigy PCMCIA card, and it has provided a noticeable improvement in sound quality when using headphones. the sound is louder, more vibrant and clearer.

Antec TruPower 430 causing major system problems

I would suggest not using your pc until you get another power supply incase you damage something. agreed. he should try a high quality homemade psu made by "Bob's power supplies."

Best 1920x1200 LCD WUXGA monitor? Sony, Samsung, HP, Apple?

I have the HP f2304 and I love it. Image quality is superb. I've never really seen any ghosting. My only complaints: 1. no remote control 2. I'd like more inputs - multiple DVI, & multiple component inputs 3. No built-in tv tuner...not a big deal if you have a cable box connected...

i have the z-680's and they are absolutely amazing. but jim, for your dorm room, do not buy them. You will not be able to use them without complaints. In my house I can barely use them and I get people screaming at me from two floors up to turn them down too much overkill for a dorm room

i upgraded from 512 to 1gb and i noticed a difference, albeit minor. it could also be my mind playing tricks with me. if you're not doing anything fancy they're wont be much difference.

i used to have the 52x drive...it was fast reading commercial discs, but reading burned cd's was just horrid. also, kenwood is no longer supporting the drives, which means there are no more firmware updates. the drive will have difficulty reading newer types of discs, as mine did during it's...

Has anyone upgraded their motherboard with Windows XP and not done a fresh install of Windows???

i went from an I850E chipset board to an 875 board without re-installing XP...when i booted it up it found new devices, i rebooted and everything was fine. but a fresh install is always recommended it. i only did that because i had a new hard drive coming the next day and I did not want to do...

P4c OC - Hyper Threading ON or OFF?

i have the p4 3.0c and the p4c800-e...i leave hyperthreading on and can overclock up to 220fsb...with hyperthreading off i can hit 240...but it may be that I just got unlucky with my board because i had the p4p800 before this and didn't have this problem.

i transfered all of my components from the p4p800 deluxe to the p4c800-e deluxe...before i could get up to 245 at 5:4...now i can only get up to 225 regardless of mem ratio...any ideas? after detaching the heatsink does the thermal paste need to be reapplied in order to cool the cpu...

Antec True Power Supplies- quick question for those that have one

I just got the 430W version today...it has fan only power connectors that are identical to regular power connectors except that you're only supposed to plug fans into them. But my fan connector has only two leads going into the power connector...the other two holes are empty...can anyone here...

actually i just got a summer job at best buy, as a technician...i dunno about circuit city but at best buy there would be a restocking fee in order to prevent people from buying things as "rentals"...cameras for vacations...laptops for business trips, etc...but for everything else in the store...

for the cenatek one, yes you would. it has an ac adapter that plugs into the back of the pci card. so obviously a battery backup is recommended. in my opinion, this would be fine if you had a battery backup that would last for one hour...and software that could automatically backup the data...

well...pci-x and pci-express are two different things. the pci slots on a granstdale motherboard won't be faster than existing slots. but if they made a pci-express version then that would most certainly help.:)

actually if you look on the right hand side of the webpage, ocaddiction reviwed the ram drive. they said sustained transfer rates fully saturate the pci bus at 133mbps...even the fastest scsi drive will only hit 80mbps...i think it would still be better than scsi raid because access times will...

a company called cenatek sells a 4GB PC100 RAM drive for $900...although I'm assuming you could buy the smallest one and then just add the RAM yourself...it's in the form of a PCI card...it's still not bootable but the website indicates that future versions will be...i would just love to see how...

OCZ and Corsair have dual channel memory kits that give you a 2 or 4 stick set of matching sticks that were tested together. But they charge you up the wazoo for this. It would be much cheaper to just buy 2 or 4 identical sticks separetly. If the sticks are tested individually then why...
