the stock AMD card has a 512bit bus with only 5000Mhz ram.. wait for third party board makers to start adding 6000-7000Mhz ram versions and upping the GPU clock with a big factory overclock. may even be 20% faster then the stock card...

The latency thing isn't actually true. Typical GDDR5 memory controllers have high latency, but the modules themselves don't necessarily. Most of what I've seen indicates the opposite; that GDDR5 can have extremely low latency vs DDR3, but building a memory controller to take advantage of that is...
GDDR5 uses less base voltage then DDR3 but it draws around 25% more power :) RAM in general doesn't use much power compared to CPU/GPU/HDD ext! Also the first GDDR5 running on 56nm node wasnt as efficient as the 46nm, 40nm and 28nm GDDR5 that's currently used on HD7970GE and will be in the PS4...

It does.. the GPU is 3x faster then PS3 and Xbox 360 but overall the machine is slow for a modern console ( R700 40nm 2008 Tech )
The next Xbox is rumored to have a GPU 20x faster then the current xbox and the PS4 is rumored to have a GPU 32x Faster then the current PS3 Both are to be on 28nm...
Looks like all is well with the Samsung 840 Pro and non Pro... strange that the product so close to release had a major firmware issue fixed just weeks before release.
i've updated the post with info at the top in BOLD to state what the issue was and link to the Anandtech site stating what they were told by Samsung.

With my 830 running on windows 8 Pro i also couldn't install the Samsung Magician software..

a 64 x2 5000+ back in the day would of cost almost twice as much as a I7-3770k so i'm guessing its a good replacement CPU when comparing price VS previous product
Its easier to upgrade the GPU... then it is the Motherboard and CPU :) nice system.. i would have gone the Samsung 830 256GB over the Samsung 840 (non Pro) its not only a faster drive but its 27nm MLC Nand "on paper" should last like 4 times longer.

I had allot of issues with a normal 1TB Hard drive on a 3rd party SATA port.. i moved to an intel port and all my problems were fixed..
This is not only for SSD's ... all non native stat ports 'CAN BE Buddy" for any storage drives are best to be avoided if you can, especially for the Operating...
For all these people worried about filling up an 840 to then have it fail. Information on a retail drive failing is on everyone's radar.. and now with Anandtech repeating the benchmarks on a retail drive they will soon know. I still think you cant go wrong with a samsung 830... not only should...
