    I don't think they are fleecing you at all. I used to have a compaq and I upgraded the 20 gb 4200 rpm hdd to a 40 gb 4200 rpm hdd after I had it for a few months and the 40 gb hdd cost 150, and then I just had a 20 gb hard drive that I had to try and get rid of.

    I'm going to be buying an Inspiron 1100 and using XP Pro. The 1100's have shared video memory, 32 or 64 mb. I'm going to configure it with just a 128 mb sodimm and then buy some from Crucial, its cheaper that way. What do you guys think? Any comments are welcome.
