Just ordered a 9700np

Namely, the Hercules Prophet 9700 np. Looks like a good card, with that copper heatsink and the ramsinks. Is it? Also, what benefits would I get if I use the 9700->9800 softmod in the Omega Catalysts? Thanks!

What is a .EPS file?

It's encapsulated PostScript. MSOffice tools should be able to read it.

5600ultra vs. 9500pro/9600pro

I've heard the following problems (no OCing): - Card doesn't work at AGPx8 - Horizontal interferences on the SVGA output, although not the DVI - Small halts due to conflicts witht the sound card I know this may be a too concrete case, but it definetely makes one think :)

Albatron Ti4200($90) or a PNY 5200Ultra($99).Which is better?

Unless you can't live without DX9, get the Ti4200, it kills the 5200.

In live in Spain, and for 235? I can get a 9500pro. The 9600pro is between 200-210?.

9600: Pro or Pro-Lite?

No, it's not VIVO. I've already returned the card to the shop. I should have used some tool like RivaTuner to check the RAM speed, but I didn't think of that before returning the card, the "lite" sticker was enough to me :) The bad thing now is that I have no videocard until they get a Pro...

9600: Pro or Pro-Lite?

That's not the "Lite" I'm referring to. Mine is a Gigacube, and the difference is that the Lite version comes with 4ns RAM clocked at 400Mhz, instead of 600Mhz. That's why I'm hoping to be able to tell one type from the other from the 3dmark scores.

Hi folks, I just got a 9600pro, and I have noticed a small sticker on the box that reads "Lite". I don't know if I've been really given a pro or a less-powerful pro-lite. I run 3dmark2003 and got almost 2700 marks, but I don't know if this is correct for a pro or not. What should be the score...

Best catalysts for the 9600pro?

Hi folks, I finally made my mind and got a 9600pro. I'll receive it in a couple of days :) I'd like to know what the best drivers for the 9600pro are, since I'm moving from an nvidia card and I'm a bit concerned with ati's "famous" driver issues and such. Thanks in advance. Cheers!

OC an Xp1800+

It's a palomino. After some trials, I've given up the idea of oc'ing it, I won't get any benefit since it's already running hot at stock speed (60ºC). I guess I'll get a Barton when I change my video card... :)

Cutscene recording software

I've never done that myself, buy maybe HyperCam would work. It's not freeware, though. The evaluation version stamps a text on the captured video ("Unregistered", I think it was). Cheers.

Tried installing RH9, always stops at "ncurses" in install...help?

ncurses is used to build "graphical" user interfaces in textmode. It's required by many Linux applications, so you probably can't get around it. I haven't tried RH9 myself, but your problem seems to me like a defective CD. Regards.
