if all you care about is the network utilization, then just get filezilla server or something and just limit the download bandwidth.

New Windows Updates, losing control of computer....

The activation happened to me before. I upgraded mobo/proc and at the same time forgot to set the date/clock, so winxp was not very happy and locked me out. I had to activate over the phone, which should work for you too.

Using three monitors, with 6150 and 7800GT

your best bet would be to ask to manufacturer of the MB if the onboard video works when a discrete card is plugged in. I know it didn't work with AGP but with PCIe, maybe. Then ask NVIDIA if Dual-View works, but I'm pretty sure it would because windows supports multiple monitors anyways. You...

fyi: you can buy the combo and then return the mobo. you won't get the full price of the mobo, but then, you didn't pay full price either. this way you can get the processor for cheap and you can get a different mobo if you want. edit: YMMV. I did this before with a barton 2800+, but others...

Slowlearner, Yeah, my drives are both WD and I used the "Data Lifeguard Tools" that came with it to copy it over. I don't know why it didn't work though. Rob, both drives are on SATA so they're both masters. would I actually need to switch the two? Does anyone know why the OS would still...

you don't get attached to any of the storylines? you've played a good number of games in pretty wide variety and if you don't care about any of them, then I don't think single-player is for you. play CS or something online. human intelligence >> artificial intelligence

What is the cheapest way to go about using my LCD monitor for consoles?

warning on the VIVO/AIW/tv tuner cards for pc is that some of them have a time delay, which doesn't matter for tv, but really screws up the gaming experience.

why don't you just block access to www.getfirefox.com? or redirect it to a message that says that FF is not allowed? assuming that they have to download firefox using IE before installing it...

are you sure? I was coding GUIs and stuff in JAVA and you can definitely have them double buffered. I made a 2D scrolling game and double buffering makes a significant difference. or do you mean triple buffering?

Question about Logitech speakers

THX specs for computer speakers are different from THX specs for home theater. You could have gotten the $120 pioneer 515 at CC during BF, which would be a much better choice. but even at $150 or whatever it goes for now, it would be a better choice. how would the 2300 qualify as a reciever...

if you don't want the latest graphics features, this should do just fine. even the newest most demanding games like doom3/halflife2 don't *require* DX9 support, even though they say they do. in fact, they still look pretty darn good without it. I doubt hotwheels will be an issue.
