I cant change my signature

FIXED ... turn off your "FIREWALL" and it should update. Mine did after I turned off ZoneAlarmPro and the changes took. Halleluia !!

pc won't power up

For what it's worth... there is a good article in CPU (computer power user) April 2005 edition on SLI mobos. The 3 systems tested all use 600W PSU's. I found another article that showed no booting of SLI boards until you get up to a 510w PSU at least.

To Montag451: A repair - installation of the OS has fixed the problem. Still would love to know what triggered the problem ??? Because after the fix, I ran Virus and Spyware scans and found nothing that would cause such a problem.

Can't boot to OS

During bootup; I get the screen with various choices: normal ; last known good; safe mode; etc. None of the choices work; just loops back to the same screen of choices. Any suggestions? Is this likely due to any known virus? Is it time for a format and reload?

Can you run the PC without a Monitor

So far everything looks good. No smoke and the HDD led indicates it is still processing. I did unplug the power to the monitor first.

Can you run the PC without a Monitor

I have a PC that is always on. Can I disconnect the monitor while the PC is running without doing any harm to either the MB or the monitor ? I know you can do damage if you disconnect a PS2 connected device; but unsure if that applies to the Monitor. The Monitor is LCD type.

Acceptable Mobo Temps?

CPU's before replacing the paste were 56* to 58*C and MB's were 30 to 32*C. After new paste: 47* to 50*C on the CPU's and 27*C on the MB's. Room Temp is 20*C. I have been leaving the PC's on all the time; as I'm running the SETI@Home Work Units.

Transferring RAID Array to new Motherboard

Congrats! I'm glad it is going well. I agree; 1 highspeed SATA drive will be as fast as Raid 0 For a drive image; you might try Norton Ghost. I haven't used it myself; yet! I still use Raid1 and trust I won't lose both Harddrives at the same time; therefore no need for an image.
