Hard drive underperformance problem

i have an xp2600+, 1GB ram, on a A7N8X-E deluxe, and a 120GB WD 8mb cache hard drive, in SiSoftware Sandra 2004 the hard drive is only getting 11,000 it should be A LOT higher, is there any way to upgrade drivers or something to get the performance i should be getting, (it is really slowing down...

Best heatsink for amd XP

as of right now i have 2x80mm tornados in my comp. i have them on a fan controller so if i want a quiet pc i can have one, i would hook up the 92mm to it also. thanks for all the help, and by the way i have heard that the sp-97 is slightly better then the SLK-947U

mp3 player that has SD cap

check out http://www.mpio.com i have the FL100 and i love it (flashable bios, allows for larger sd cards later) i use mine with a sd card of 512MB and it works great. the only thing about this player is that it is a little quiet. if you have good head or earphones you will be fine i bought this...

Best heatsink for amd XP

I have an amd Xp 2600+, asus a7n8x-e delux mobo, and i am going to upgrade from stock cooling to a better air cooling heatsink, so far the best heatsink i have found is the Thermalright SP-97 with a 92mm tornado (connected to a fan conntroller). any help in finding a better heatsink would be...

SCSI or RAID 0 for digital image editing?

More ram and a raid 0 would be the best a raid with 4 hard drives would be very fast two, 4x WD400JB (western Digital 40GB special edition (8mb Cache)) these are very fast hard drives $66 each (4x=$264) at newegg. Or if you can afford it try the 60GBSE $78 (4x=$312) or even the 80GBSE for $83...

? Best way to transfer ~2GB long-distance?

have the person compress the data first send it in sections if you have to, use winRAR or winACE (winace can compress batter) have the person compress the file into Whatever size you want him to send at a time then send it via FTP (just download a free one if you dont have one, check download.com )

Best Fan for Thermalright slk 900u

i have 2x80MM vantec torandos on a vantec fan controller and another computer with 3x80mm with a vantec controller for them and soon i will buy a 92mm to max out the fan controller;), wont beable to get to max but it will be able to move hundreds of cfm thrugh the case, i say go with the tornado...

$250 Buring a Hole In My Pocket.....

if you dont neet a tone of more space (another 160 gigs of hard drive ) then get another 80GB Maxtor HDD (7200/ATA133/2mb cache) and put it into a raid 0 (stripping) array, this will make your computer a lot faster, and give you a lot more HDD space. or get another 2x256 mem so you can run 1GB...

S.M.A.R.T. enabled hard drives?

smart is Self Monotoring somthing or other, no it doesnt slow it down it is like an error correction i think, it is good to enable and all hard drives have it (all but ones that are over 5 years old)

Plz review my new PC parts list

the setup looks great the CD-RW isnt the fastest one out thier but it is one of the best, it can read disks like no other dirve (very scrached ones) it can also cram 1gb of info into a cd and other cool stuph. the video card is very nice the 256 meg version is only slightly better not really...

at the moment i am running a p4c 2.8GHz on the asus P4C800 Deluxe, with 1GB of ram (2x512 for dual ddr, 400MHz) is it possable to have 2 Gigs of ram in dual ddr mode when runing at 400MHz?
