fyi, I just picked up an XFX 6600GT AGP from Monarch and it was DoA. I'm sending it back now. In my Google searching I found many reports of dead XFX cards. It was my first XFX card. Perhaps I was just unlucky. Not a thread crap, just a fyi.
Definitely a warm deal.
I picked up two of these from Best Buy before the 1st of the year and they're running quite nicely. You get a sweet five year warranty too.
Bump for warmness.
If you have a business notebook you won't get transferred to India for support. ;)
In all seriousness, I ordered the Inspiron 1100 by phone for $878 AR ($200 MIR) and picked up a four year on-site warranty with it. I got the stock configuration which was more than enough. I won't be playing...
I did an in store pickup for the APC bundle a week ago or so.
I spoke with a CSR on the phone about the order later and she said they're supposed to take the coupon off if you do an in store pickup and it's an online only coupon. I got away with it, but apparently I shouldn't have.
You'll...
I think they're the same, yeah.
If a Back UPS Pro offered all the intelligent monitoring capabilities of the Smart UPS... Why does APC sell the Smart UPS line of products? Hmmm.
Anyway, Nut is the Network UPS daemon. It's a Unix daemon(s) that monitor the status of UPSes from many...
You get what you pay for. If you need advanced monitoring capabilities like battery runtime and load average, you need a Smart UPS, not a Back UPS (Pro).
The Back UPS Pro 1000/1100 lasts for quite a while. Personally I'm more interested in extended runtime than nifty little numbers for a...
These little UPSes are useless for just about everything. The ones that support AVR are useful for protecting basic equipment, but I'd only trust real valuable equipment to a high end UPS like an APC (Back UPS Pro, Smart UPS, Matrix UPS, et al).
Sam's Club is _still_ selling the APC Back UPS...
You generally need one of the newer push button KVMs to handle the higher resolution of today's monitors. All the KVMs I saw on Ebay that were switch-based were PS2 keyboard powered and didn't support resolutions greater than 1024x768. If you're just running a couple file servers, they're a...
Oh, joyous days! Office Max lady just arrived with my order. I'm glad I came home for lunch today. I thought I'd not get it until tomorrow...
I just love buying things. Things are good.
(And my Maxtor 120GB DiamondMax 9 RMA is here as well.)
Yes, I did this deal back in May. It's actually a Back UPS Pro 1000 that's seemingly rebranded for Sam's Club. It's the real deal. It kept three boxes running for twenty minutes before I became bored and put the unit back on utility power.
I can understand wanting an 8MB cache, but in my case I don't need it. I just want the raw storage capacity. It's being used solely as a backup device. I won't need fast sequential access. Moreover, a large cache is useless for random access.
I would like to score one of those 160GB+ drives...
I just gave this deal a shot. I've been watching this forum and cubby wallet for a while and seem to have missed most of the smoking hard disk deals.
I called in (to Staples). The CSR requested a phone number or account number. I hadn't ordered before, so I gave her my account information...
