XP Task Manager does not show restart

I reinstalled XP (too many crashes/conflicts). After reinstalling it does not show the restart/shutdown the computer option at the top. I like this so that when I use remote desktop I can restart my system (sometimes it is necessary). Is there any way to get this to show up?

*update* issue installing win xp pro

Are you sure the hard drive is not bad? Why the new install? Consider reformatting/partitioning the drive prior to XP install.

windows XP home won't remember passwords

I had the same problem on a couple of my computers. It took me a while, but I finally found the answer. Easier to understand step by step method to resolve password problem Microsofts Knowledge Base answer I used the first link and it corrected my problem. good luck. I hope this helps.

Apacer price is crazy!!!! on Newegg.com

Out of all the memory that I have bought, the only one that I had any problems with was Apacer. For some reason, it would only work in some computers, but not others. It gave me a ton of headaches at first until I figured out that it was the memory. So, take it for what it is worth, but now...

I have to agree with straubs. You should probably run both. I ran both and spybot found 2 or 3 extra things. But, I am sure if I ran them in the other order, then adaware would have found a couple of things that spybot missed. Also, the interface is much better on adaware. Just my $0.02.

American Express Cash Rebate Card (up to 5%)

My Chase Shell Visa was converted to Chase Freedom Card. They give a straight 1% on all purchases and 3% for Gas purchases. It is credited to your account. There is no rebate check and no waiting for the rebate. You just get it credited to your account. Not a bad deal for a rebate card.

How to get rid of CTRL+Alt+Del?

I never saw that box? I did it another way after I found some information at MS. I still do not see the advance tab or that box for Ctrl+Alt+Del. That would have been a lot easier if I could find it. But, either way, it is corrected. Again, thanks.

I have XP Pro installed. I recently logged on to a NT Domain. I now do not need to be logged on to that domain. But, now whenever I reboot, I have to hit Ctrl+Alt+Del then username and password. I used to just boot up without this extra step. Is there any way that I can get back to this...

Setting a site to site connection

I think it would depend on how many people/computers need to acess the other lan/site. Either way, it sounds like you would need a VPN solution as previously stated. Most likely you would be better off with a hardware solution rather than a software solution. This would mean 2 new hardware...

I have not tried this, but it is a relatively inexpensive VPN/firewall/router with an 8 port switch from netgear. Netgear FVS318 and you can use a coupon.

Compact Flash and Smart Media - What's the Difference?

I know this may be a dumb question, but what is the difference between the 2 types of cards? Is one type better than the other? Can they be interchanged in equipment (i.e. cameras). I would guess that they can not be interchanged, but it does not hurt to ask. Thanks ahead of time.
