Alright, I want dual procs for sure because my sofware takes strong advantage of the duals (much more than HT)...so i'm thinkin that the Xeons are pretty pricey and to go with AMD. Is there any way to get dual AMD 2800s or so with very high FSB? The most i've seen (FSB) on AMDs is 533. I'm not...
Thank you so much!
Well I want to keep the dual procs so i'm probably gonna go for the AMDs for price reasons.
I'm also wanted to have a gig of ddr mem on there too so i just wanna make sure i can fit all that in there - AMD 760MPX board would work?
I couldnt find any documentation on dual processor motherboards.
I'm gonna be putting in two P4 2.8ghz 800FSB for a high end editing/visual motion graphics platform.
What would be anyone's recommendation about what motherboard to use for the best for the price?
Thank you!!
Yeah, didnt really factor in the compatibility issue, i just assumed that if XP Professional supported it, it'd be fine.
Plus the massive price.
Plus i could easily OC a lower ghz up to 3ghz anyways.
I was also looking at the ATI Radeon 9700 for vid card...overkill?
Do you guys think hyperthreading would be of any benefit for video processing at all?
Just read the article on the Intel HT 3.06ghz processor.
Thank you so much for all the advice!
There is also a method of creating power from the sun (forget what the name of it is) by setting up hundreds-thousands of magnifying mirrors focused on a large container of water. The heat caused by the magnification of the sun's rays on a single area causes the water to boil and create steam...
This whole power talk has reminded me of an idea thats been cropping up in my head for a while now.
I keep comming back to the fact that everything contains a certain amount of energy, even the individual molecules vibrating (unless you believe in the 'absolute zero' theory).
So although not...
Hey all,
I'm trying to put together a PC (Win XP) video editing / special effects platform with dual processors. I need something really fast to render all the complex info. It will mostly be 2D stuff without a whole lot of emphasis on the 3D aspect.
Of course i've talked to some of my tech...
