Upgrading iMac G5 20" Superdrive - anyone done it?

Lord Evermore and TD, thank you very much for your help. Evermore, when I upgraded the bios last time, it said it supported faster processors, but not what speed, that's why I was wondering. So I was thinking if the machine could handle 2.6ghz and I can ebay one cheap, why not go for it? But...

Over the years I have nickel and dimed myself on this machine. I upgraded from the 30 gb HD to 160gb, I upgraded the ram to the max it would allow (a paltry 512 mb), and I even threw a dual layer DVD burner in there. I could have bought a much better system by now, but I am an idiot who believes...

Can I replace my laptop floppy drive with something cool?

Dang, thanks for the help and advice though. I just hate the idea of 3.5" floppy drive even being in my proximity in the year 2007 - god knows I haven't even seen a disk in years!

Okay honestly, if you have 280 gb of evidence that would incriminate you and the rest of your child porn ring on your HD, you aren't going to sit around wiping the drive for 18 hours. Just rip it out of the machine and PHYSICALLY damage it as best as possible. I don't care what people are saying...
