EA to charge for game demos

Companies like EA are trying new marketing methods, the industry is changing in more ways then one and you are going to see many publishers like (but not limited to) EA testing the waters. If you don't like these new ideas, then vote by not buying into it. IMO it isn't a bad thing.

Best Netbook for under $400?

Picked up the Eee Pc 1000HA over the weekend. So far I love it. Keyboard on the 901 was too small for me, and the 1000's screen is brighter and richer. That being said its not the SSD version but I am not too hard on my hardware anyway. Overall its a great little netbook.

Extreme Cold.

I live in Edmonton currently and working for BioWare we have lots of guys carrying laptops to work. First of all ambient -50c is not something you should see. -50 with wind chill yea ... but -50c plus wind chill ... lol you shouldn't be outdoors anyway. At that temp, long periods of exposure...

Best Netbook for under $400?

I too am looking at these. Right now I have got it down to the Mini 9 or the EeePC1000HA ... I know the 1000 is bigger then the Mini 9 however they are both about the same price (or I can get them for the same price rather). Anyway I am trying to decide. The Mini 9 has the 16g SSD the Asus...

EA buying Bioware Corp & Pandemic Studios

heh ... VG Holding Corp was BioWare / Pandemic parent company and it was owned by Elevation Partners. As a big black hole of despair EA may have been 2 years ago ... things have changed. John Riccitiello has done a wonderful job at EA, and IMO has made it a much better place to work then it...

Why overclock?

bang for my money ... If I can OC a C2D and have it out run a C2D that is 600-1000 bucks more stock then why not right?

Looking for an MMORPG

2nd that ... Mythic knows how to make an MMO and if you ever played DAoC you know what I tell is true. WoW is a good PvE game but the PvP is an after thought added in to facilitate the PvP crowd. WarHammer Online is built for the PvP crowd ... care bears can go quest all they want.

Gamer needs a good Router

DMZ a good idea? I have been told DMZ is the 1st step to getting hacked lol. I mean moving outside the "firewall" isn't the best of ideas. If I DMZ the game rig and then ZoneAlarm or something? The game rig is only on when I am on it really so I guess DMZ isn't so bad. Does DMZ open other...

if you want to get skillz quick do what all the CS Pros do ... play Gun Game mods. Few months of Gun Game and you will clean 90% of people. just type gg in the filters box and hit it!

Silicon Knights Sues Epic Games

I think SK is just pissed off and are looking to blame anything and anyone for the below par eye candy and delayed release. So instead of blaming their Tech Artists, Designers, and Programmers they blame Epic.

Not sure what to tell you then. The problems you are having was exactly what I was going through with the board. I read the walk through on hardforum and vola! I was running at 3.2ghz with out a hickup.

yea read the guide ... I too couldn't get my E6420 to clock at all after frigin around for an hour I did some hunting and found that guide to be a big time saver.

Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro any good?

I am thinking of getting the Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro for an E6420 OC ... plan on running around 3GHz in an Antec 900 case. The price is really nice, the fan is quiet and I have read its a great budget cooler. Is this a suitable cooler for my plans tho?

heh I am really not sure but some folks around here seem to think so ... from what I have read its a good budget board. right now it is but I am planning on not upgrading my PSU for a while after this build. I always like to have some overhead anyway ... plus its not that $$$$ anyway.

How long is the 65 nm, LGA775 going to last?

Running Cat5 underground?

Doesn't CAT5e only have like 12v and barely any amps? That wouldn't even kill a skin cell. lol Lord Evermore I too was baffled by Bradtechonline's response. I would just run the CAT5e in some PVC cond. really in like 5 years when the cable is possible getting screwy there will be better...

Static = PC Crash

Ok so I checked my AC power and it passes ... everything is ok. So I then turned my attention to the power bar ... I replaced it with another newer one I had. No change. So I put the other one back in. I then took the entire PC apart, :( and rebuilt it ... I started with just the mobo...

Ya that is exactly what happens ... I know its winter here and the air does get dry so static does build more so then in the summer, but everytime I touch the PC case I get a small zap ... its a fully Alu. case. I am gona check the grounds and see wtf is up with this. Its really weird because...

PC That could run Gears of war like the 360?

haha yea wouldn't want to try Unreal 3 with a 9800pro ... I was thinking more like Dual Core CPU+ 7900 256mb + 2gb RAM + by the time UT2007 hits the market mid range game rigs should run the engine fine.
