Wife does primarily photo editing and web editing on her PC, got her dual 4K displays. She'll play an occasional video game, but don't mind running games at 1080, no need to game at 4k for her occasional use. What GPU will get me there? Alternatively I'm not opposed to buying one GPU per...

were you able to get your screws holding the backplate on tight? mine were wiggling around...the HS itself is sturdy and tight since the synch down points are lower than the CPU but ...but was still concerning.

my "motherboard" temp is at 30*C, i dont know where that sensor is. it's an antec P180B, with a front fan, top fan, and rear exhaust fan plus one on the HS. I clean the dust screens regularly. 30*C does seem high but i dont know where that sensor is. I'm using Asus' tools to monitor temps...

for grins i went back to stock BCLK and temps are the same...as expected a minor increase shouldn't bump temps up that much. i'm aware of what upping the BCLK does; i was running 105BCLK and a 44x multi on stock voltages, prime stable but heated up like a mofo... spread should be OK but...

Are P67 & H67 enough to put you off the unlocked i5-2500K SB?

meh...i got over it. Does it suck i can't use the IGP with my p67? yup...was i really gonna use it anyways? nope...QS is the only thing lost, but i'm a quality whore, and the tests i saw from AT I wouldn't have used it anyways. I'll wait twice as long for a better quality transcode...

Glad I skipped Sandy Bridge

If it's something they enjoy then it's no big deal...i used to rebuild my system every 4-5 months when new stuff was coming out, i enjoyed it, it was a hobby, and didn't cost a lot of money since i was always buying at good prices. Now on the other hand i don't have time to do that anymore...

Will you be going 2600K or 2500K?

Just curious what others are planning to purchase. at roughly $100 difference i don't think the extra threads, or cache are worth it. benchmarks show the two CPU's running nearly identical, even anands review showed the i5 on top of the i7.

Long range baby monitors?

little out there I know...but my neighbor and I have a predicament...anytime I need him to come over while the kids are napping to help with something it's an ordeal because the baby monitor won't reach across the street... Can anyone recommend some that have a serious range? We're talking...

Quiet cooling for i7 & new GPU's

I've done water...its fun, its nice, but not worth the money when i can get the same results on air. I just don't hvae the time to deal with it like I used to. Full time job + house + other hobbies just dont' leave time to deal with watercooling/crazy overclocks anymore.

The ninja will mount on the i7? Thta'd be fantastic if so...I got 3.2 out of my 2.4Ghz C2D no problems... unfortunate about graphics coolers...the stock graphics cards always have a high pitched whine to me, bugs the hell out of me.

the only places they have near me are crappy overpriced places...i wish i could take advantage of this every time it pops up but really...90% of the places are really bad hole in the wall restaurants that are in the area, i'm conufsed how they stay in business really.

yeah i dunno how people can use a single monitor anymore. I have 2x24" Dells + 1x 23" Sony on my home rig...now i can't see going back to just two.

Can't get dual video cards to work in Vista (3 monitors)

Got the EVGA 8400GS in the mail today, and plugged it in and booted up and automagically installed the proper drivers etc. Under vista. So now i have all three working flawlessly! :) WOOT WOOT! Last card must've been a flake!

yeah I think i'll try it under XP, i've done this before under XP (not with these cards) but figured since i have vista it should work great... Time to wait for windows 7 i suppose! :)

well, my buddy has an ati card as his primary, and this nvidia 8400 gs as his secondary card. So i know that works. he could not get his ati primary card to work with a very very old ati card as a secondary. I still can't figure out how to get vista to use the same driver for both cards...

tried that arkaign, uninstalled and rebooted and it just fails to boot into vista. Even tried going into safe mode and removing the drivers that way. It doesnt make sense because they should use the same driver anyways being 8xxx series cards.

I recently acquired a 3rd large LCD to place next to my 2 2407's. I picked up an nvidia 8400GS pci graphics card to give me a 3rd PCI slot. my 2nd PCIE slot is being used for a raid card... In any case. i cannot get vista to boot with the 2nd card installed. my primary card is an 8800GTS...
