If someone wants to register their domain name elsewhere, which is the wise thing, after all the user feedback regarding how 1&1 is possessive about domain names, Rackshack is a good option, where you can register a domain name for $5.41 inclusive of all taxes.
I had no issues registering a...
Regarding the nameserver thing, you have to click on the "Buy a Domain" (or somesuch) link on the control panel, but once you do that, you get to where you can use and external domain. I have been there. The problem is that I bought a new domain name today, from rackshack.net, and I have to wait...
Just got this reply :
Dear Foo Bar,
Thank you again for your interest. You do not have to change domain
name registrars. Simply go to your registrar's website and change the
domain name servers to 1and1's servers. Once you sign up for the
Professional Package and set up your domains, we...
Hi,
Did you register a domain name with them?
Do they let you use some other nameserver to point to them, or do they insist on transferring the domain name to their nameserver?

This forummakes it look like the guys at 1and1 are too possesive about the domain names!! Like they are some psycho retards....so that might be the catch. you are with them forever that way!

This might be of interest to all who are considering the x1000, it helped me a lot :)
You get the best at crucial.com . The site walks you through, I tried it recently, so you just have to select the right laptop (Compaq x1000) and you are taken to the ram you need to buy.
There might be a couple other sites which sell the same RAM cheaper, so to know what you need, go to...
I have this comp at school, which i use daily. I use linux (debian). There is a windows 2000 installation on the same computer, but the guy who installed it forgot the admin password, so its useless. he now wants to reinstall windoze, but that would mean that I will have to save my data, and...
