yeah but when i buy a new SATA disk i expect it to run at ATA150. Maybe i've gone blind but i can't seem to find a single page that explains how the hell you change transfermodes!
My Seagate SATA disk is running i ATA100 when it's possible to run it in ATA150. How do you change the Transfer mode?????
I got the latest Intel chipset drivers and checked Seagates FAQ and forum without any luck.
Abit IC7-G overclocks like an ebony god, if you cant get it to overclock there must be something wrong with your other stuff. Make sure you have the latest BIOS and set AGP/PCI to fixed 66/33. many people have had probs with that one
ASUS P4P800 is prolly a good mobo but i would suggest Abit IC7, the only difference between IC7 and -G is you dont get CSA Gigabit LAN, no SATA RAID and a few less USB2.0 and firewireports but you get a superior OC board. It costs about the same as the ASUS
With Abit's flashmeny you can keep your BIOS updated without the use of bootdisks but BIOS ver 1.5 should do just fine, didn't find anything on 1.6 that would affect me so im sticking with 1.5
The stuff you're getting are almost the exact stuff i got right now, although we have different kinds of RAM but i OC my stuff to 3125MHz (240x13) with 5/4 ratio without any probs, system is 100% stable and can take alot more but im satisified with the performance.
270FSB seems a bit overkill...
got my P4c 2.6 running at 3125MHz (240x13) and not even breaking a sweat.
Using Zalman 7000cu, 45C during heavy load.
RAM running att 2-3-3-7, 5/4 ratio at default Vdimm.
AGP/PCI set to Fixed 66/33 to get my SATA to boot.
GAT set to auto on all.
I know it can OC alot more than that but i...
the THG link you posted Jules was just what i needed. I've seen that guide lots of times but never bothered to look closer, but why the hell did they leave out the Radeon9700pro and nonpro?
Yes but is the difference extreme or just marginal? i've not seen a single page that simply tells the exact Core and Mem. freq. between a pro and a nonPro card but due to the very large pricedifference between those two i guess it is quite huge. But some hard numbers would be nice if someone out...
Does anyone have details on Nvidias FX5900 Ultra and nonUltra? because nvidia seems reluctant to share that info on their homepage. Same thing goes for ATi Radeon9700-9800 Pro and nonPro cards. just some general info comparing mem. freq. and core freq. will do but if anyone has some nice...
I solved my prob with some help from Abit-USA forums, apparently the mobo won't OC with a SATA disk unless you set AGP/PCI to Fixed 66/33. now im up and running at 3000MHz and 921 FSB and been running Prime95 torture test for 12 hours flawless. gonna push her up to 3.2GHz and 1000+FSB.
I need some serious help now, i was able to OC my P4C 2.6 to 2998MHz and got it to boot up, just to realize that my Seagate SATA disk isn't bootable anymore which was really strange. the SATA disk doesn't appear in BIOS and seems to have vanished. I got a 350W powersupply but i doubt my comp is...

Does anyone have any suggestions on CPU voltage and VDimm before i guess it blow my new comp up. It froze when i clocked it from 2.6 to 2.8GHz which was quite disapointing.
I bought my Abit IC7-G less than a week ago and have had some real annoying probs, including the built-in Ethernet. However that was easily solved with when i used the drivers on the Abit Driver CD that came with the mobo instead of the ones from Abits homepage. hope that solves your problem...
