Windows XP SP1 Installation Error

here's a nice website that describes exactly how to create a slipstream cd....I think I had gotten the same error message you had once but I think that was cause I forgot to copy the I386 folder off the cd to my harddrive

My Radeon 9500 Pro is equivelent to what nVida card? Thinking about dumping it...

If they video card is only 6 months old and it has gone bad it's still covered under manufactures warranty....if you kept your receipt you can get a replacement.

that guide was produced in Sept 2002....very little has changed since then in regards to actually putting a PC together. You should do fine..but if you run into any questions feel free to post them.

Hard drive emitting 'power line'-like sounds

Here's a thought....backup your data. Seriously if harddrives start making any kind of noise you need to do a backup and then look into getting a new one.

Safe to delete all files in Local Settings/Temp?

I would delete everything excpet the things that have todays date on it....just to make sure your still not using them.

Receiving DOUBLE MESSAGES in Outlook Express. HELP!

I have yet to seen OE not get double messages when checking hotmail.....it's done it on every computer I've worked with. So if you find out the answer please post it.

No usernames in taskmanager.. (XP)

try creating a 2nd user account and see if that helps...if I remember right it fixes the problem

where is the keycode on my comp?
