Retiring a Server

I made this mistake once and had a really rough time fixing things. I had already physcially moved the old server (God bless E-bay) and couldn't put it back on the network. It will probably take some time for everything to propogate to the new DC. Good luck.

Can you connect to a pc behind a router with tightvnc?

Just to throw one other suggestion into the mix.... If you follow the aforementioned advice and it still doesn't work, try this: Type the IP address followed by 2 colons and the port number. From within TightVNC, I have to type 123.456.789.10::5900 to connect to a PC. Good luck.

Weird Behavior - Monitor Power Setting

I'm running WinXP Pro on my main rig. P4 3.2, Abit AG8 mobo, XFX 6600GT, 2 17" Viewsonic LCD's. I've got the power settings in Windows set to turn off the monitors after 15 minutes of idle time. From time to time this setting gets changed to never turn off the monitors. I've tried everything...

Problem accessing mapped drive on VPN
