I just got this board back from Tyan RMA... now i cant install windows... I keep getting this error during setup no matter what mix of hardware I use. swapped everything from memory.. hd's... video...powersupply... Windows XP Pro error.. File \i386\ntkrnlmp.exe could no be loaded The error...

How do you remove "My Documents" from Explorer Tree

This is in XP Pro. my buddy dosent like like the "My Dcuments" in the Explorer tree right click start button then click Explore all users... see My Documents at the top? above my computer? what key do you need to remove int he registry to remove it... he got it removed from everywhere else...

My impression on the audigy

I just sold my 5.1 Platinium and bought an Audigy, it sounds, in my opinion way better, and im even using crappy old Cambridge Soudworks 4.0 speakers. i want the Logitech Z560's

Anyone else try it? LMK what you're temps are before/after. << what's the benefit of lower idle temps? Your CPU will die in 10 years instead of 8? >> herm, you basically just shot down everyone who uses some sort of silver paste/extra cooling, to get there cup?s to run that much cooler...

no i don?t use seti or any other DCP however I just played a 4 hour game of RTCW last night. During the game I switched a few times to see what the temp was. 41 and never went higher.. it used to go up to ~50 when playing it

I did a search for HALT and didn?t find anything; sorry if this is a repost. I did this HALT tweak in the link below, my A7V266-E that normally shows higher then normal temp (44c idle, 49c-50c full load) Now after doing this tweak my CPU runs around 35c idle 41c MAX (and remember ASUS board...

Thermaltake Volcano 7... $18.99

Great HSF but i found the thermal probe is useless, it takes the temp from the case and not the CPU... so if you're case is always cool and your CPU is burning hot, the fan will not change speed's.. what you need to do is remove the thermal probe and connect the two wires togeather and wrap it...

you may be disabling the Onboard PC97 Audio Controler in the Onboard Peripheral Resource Control panel what you need too do is Disable the Onboard PCI Audio in the Chip Config section

Dead 1600+ XP

this ever happen to anyone else, had a 1600 XP running at default speed, default voltage running for over a month, all of a sudden when i went to start the system nothing. felt the motherboard and it was HOT real HOT, changed CPU's and the Motherboard worked fine.. put the CPU in another board...

Anyone using the SOHOware Broadguard router?

Thou I have never used the SOHOware router, I have used other products form them, and well they are not very good, very cheaply made, lots of problems with them. Id go with cisco, netgear, ugate, 3com, nextland (im not a fan of Linksys) smc is not the greatest ether. Again this is only my...

Ok, now which is the best Kt266A board?

ASUS A7V266-E, I have had basically no problems, Great O/Cing ability, and very stable, only complaint is the that onboard raid is the "Lite" version, but you can change that with a hacked BIOS

Very good if you like to switch back and forth between multiple browser windows too, since you can have them all open up as tab's. You can do the same with Mozilla with something called Tabzilla (I Think?)

Can dust kill components, anything of this sort happened to you?

he he I used to do on-site service, and you would not believe some of the computers I came across, one person for instant must have smoked a pack of cigarettes while I was there anyways opened the computer and you could basically scrape 1/8" of sticky smoke smelling dust off everything contained...

Slow boot in WinXP, Bootvis error

send me you're bootvis dump (if you have one) 2min is was too long. for me, from power button to fully loaded for me = 16.03 seconds (1600XP) Edit.. a little tweaking later i am now 16.03 second boot :)
