Thanks I load default fail safe settings in bios and the issue seems that is resolved at least for now.. It's probably a bug, there's no way humanly possible that 1.9-2V would have been introduced in vcore and I'd have a perfectly functional cpu with normal performance/thermals, that is if it...
System is a 5950x in a Crosshair VIII Dark Hero. PSU is a Corsair AX1600i.
I'm o/cing with both PBO and manual o/c due to Dark Hero dynamic feature. CPU is oced @4.5GHz all core with 1.3V both in vid and vcore set.
While system works flawlessly all the time, no throttling issues, stable and...
Yes it did get hilarious and you absolutely did what you accuse me of.
That's really a "wait to see" approach like the one you are trying to preach me about right?
Look you can lie to yourself all you want but don't try to sound objective because obviously you are not.. What suits your...
You don't need 512bit bus to put 12Gb of vram you need the exact same bus as 3090 has which is 384bit.. And tdp as you've seen does not change by that significantly 3090 has 350w..Nvidia just didn't give it because it wanted to give a Ti or a refresh later down the road.. Simple tactics of the...
Finally a sensible post.. Don't even bother I shouldn't either. Fanbois from either side will try to pass their distorted agenda always. You say A but they go to B because this is what they do.
Piece of advice because I don't have the time explaining myself to a stranger in a random topic on internet. Go back read my first reply to this thread and take some time to read before you make yourself say things you only see and believe. I didn't accuse you of anything. YOU quoted me because...
Lol wut? Who jumped on the hype bandwagon ? You know me?I play at 4k thus I need better gpu plus I needed an HDMI 2.1 capable one asap. First of all do you even know what Gpu did I have before? I had a 2080Ti and even if I had a 2080 nvidia said UP TO 1.9x which a person with common sense and a...
Old way of thinking is taking every single claim AMD has made thus far w/o concrete evidence in real life scenarios an old way of thinking? I've read what it can do thank you very much I don't need clarification, pardon me if I don't believe everything I see w/o first validating it..
While you...
I mean it's there available in options for a reason and I don't see how it makes it more difficult to read I just highlighted it (not using caps or enlarging the font) since it seems some members have trouble reading my whole posts and nitpicking stuff.. Anyway there's no point discussing it...
So I'll tell you what.. Let's wait and see what infinity cache will eventually do, let's wait and see how AMD performs in a vast array of titles and let's just slip under the carpet DLSS and RT performance.. Only VRAM matters from some people's quotes.. I honestly can't be more clear with my...
Who said they could have used otherwise with this type of memory and bit bus? They could have used bigger bit bus though but I suspect they didn't want to use a more expensive one,in order not drive the cost higher.. I said they used GDDR6 and avg Joe gets impressed by simply seeing 16>>>>10 so...
Independent reviews will tell you what? If it will suffice or not? Nobody knows mate if more vram will be needed with 100% certainty.. Most probably will but not with certainty. But you asked which one will be more bandwidth limited , which with the literal meaning 6800XT is so much more than...
That is true no h/w today is able to achieve great results in something meaningful in RT nowadays. It's better than nothing though I guess, we have to gradually move forward.Photorealism actually never ends and is exponentially more demanding in resources.. For example as you bounce more...
First of all from the looks of it AMD has finally caught up in rasterization performance and actually has some new features that look really promising.
Now from what I highlighted actually the former is not correct. Nvidia has invested from Turing generation to h/w specifically designed for...
You do realize that we haven't seen how 6800XT performs in the vast majority of titles and especially the Nvidia favored ones right? Also that most probably when taken into account RT performance it will be at least 30% slower which might not be important to you, but it is for me and a lot of...
I wrote "Additionally 3080 uses GDDR6x which are faster and give more memory bandwidth for the given amount of VRAM.. ". I think you misundestood the meaning of this because what this means is that for a given amount of vram higher memory speed increases the memory bandwidth significantly in...
Well actually that's half the truth.. We haven't seen RT performance which by the looks of it will be significantly worse than 3080 so there's that.. Also DLSS is a tested alternative while AMD's solution is still in beta. Not saying 6800XT or 6800 are not amazing products on the contrary they...
Thanks for your input.. I've gone crazy today and took AE-9 and Edifier S760D which I found on a great 25% off deal.
Both speakers and soundcard are great products. I feel like there's a definite step up in audio fidelity especially in the headphone amp of AE-9 which is really good for the...
Hi currently I have a SB ZxR attached to my trusty Z-906 and I'm quite happy with the result if you ask me but even me who I'm not a serious audiophile I feel that audio fidelity could improve without breaking the bank by thousand of dollars.
Upgrading is itching me though and I'm seriously...
True.. Too many issues .. I mostly looking to play it on DX12 because of the beautiful HDR implementation which looks great on my OLED rather than the raytracing codepath tbh..
But since I'm playing games from the backlog as we speak I'm not gonna bother anymore for a single game, every other...
I've left this game at the backlog and now I can only play when I disable DX12. With DX12 on and RTX I can't seem to get past the launch screen or even when I get inside game I can't seem to play for more than 2-3 mins max. Either it will CTD or hang while it's still working but my screen will...
Well as the title says is there any problem leaving the overclocking @100Hz for 24/7 or it is better to leave it @60Hz when I'm not gaming?
And if I should leave it @60Hz after gaming does it play any role if I have the overclocking ON but set the refresh rate @60Hz in Nvidia CP,
so I don't...
Hi guys as the title says I'm buying the monitor second hand and I'll have the chance to see it in person before I make my mind.
Mostly I'm asking to see if you know of any tests besides UFO and if I'm forgetting anything to check besides cosmetics
1. Backlight bleed
2. Overclocking to 100Hz...
Hi everyone,
I recently added a 980Ti reference which I found in a good price in my system and paired it with my existing 980Ti G1 model in SLi.
In SLi mode I can o/c up to 230/7700, which somehow limits my G1 individual clocks by quite a good amount (G1 can do +310 on base core).
Not only...
edit
At reference stock speeds I get around ~85fps and not 76fps with everything maxed up and AA cranked up at 2560x1440 with cpu clocked @4.4GHz.
Overclocked though I'm looking at some impressive numbers @1530/8000
Avg: 101.227 - Min: 78 - Max: 137
At 3840x2160 I get o/ced
Avg: 52.794 -...
Nm the hinder of performance was my fault with a messed up o/c profile in Afterburner after I swapped cards and re-enabled SLi.
Everything seems to be working fine now thanks everyone for your help.
Edit.
It WORKS now SLi is enabled and ZxR is working on PCIe slot 5 but I get less performance from my SLi system, though in GPUz it's still recognized as x8 for both GPUs.
Any idea on how to deal with that?

@i7baby
Not working m8, just tried it with the long bridge connector and cannot enable sli..
@LTC8K6
I'll try to put it in slot 5 and check. Thanks for the help
Hi guys,
yesterday I added a second 980Ti on my mobo for 2 way SLi. I am using the x99 extreme4 as I said in the title and a 5820k.
My problem is that when I place the second gpu in pciex16 slot 3, this covers the only pci slot which is directly below it and I cannot use my ZxR card.
Now...
5ft should be sufficient, this is what I normally get.
Thanks this is what I was looking for.
Do you all think it's the cable? I mean I'm gonna get one no doubt to test, but just checking anything else I might have missed
A simple HDMI 2.0 cable nothing of worth mentioning built quality.
Also I want to mention that I thought of 3rd party apps in the background like MSI Afterburner but even if I don't open it I have experienced it (that is if I'm not completely mistaken).
Guys I need your help on something because it's imperative that I find the source of the issue finally.
So I use my 4k TV substantially to play some PC games through HDMI 2.0.
While my gpu has HDMI 2.0 and I can connect it easily on my 55UB850V and output 60Hz@2160p, I have frequent...
I bought 5820k and I'm running @4.2 for 24/7. I am stable at 4.5 for 24/7 with reasonable vcore but why push so hard?
At gaming it's completely irrelevant at 4k/1440p for me so I think it would be a wiser choice if someones wants/needs to upgrade now.
With DX12 and more cores in mind for future...
