7zip vs Winrar

I prefer 7-Zip because it's freeware, none of that 30 day warning. Also can't stand WinRAR toolbar icons.

Recommend me a new music library/player software

foobar2000 for sure. Part of me is just saying that cause I enjoy customising, but if you're not down for too much of that there are configs available for the lazy. Fastest library and no bs.

Best paid Photoviewing software ?

XnView. Simple, fast, free, lots of options. I used to use IrfanView, but found it cluttered and unattractive. ACDSee is feature packed, but isn't free and is slower than IrfanView or XnView. I know you're asking for paid software, but paid or free, I have found XnView to be the best...

What motivates you to live?

No motivation here, but thinking of opportunities, it seems that choosing to die early leaves me with less options. I don't believe in an afterlife, so once I'm dead, that's the end. While I'm living I have a lot of choices that I can make. I can die anytime.

Can't connect to network...

I came home after a thunderstorm and the power had been out. The computer boots up just fine, but the network has "Limited or no connectivity". I have tried using a different network cable, changing the network card, to no avail. Any suggestions?

made new Show Deskop button

:thumbsup:, or windows key + D edit: Sorry didn't read the OP :o. By default in Win XP there's a Show Desktop button in the Quick Launch. What you can do is enable the Quick Launch and copy the Show Desktop button...put it wherever you please. Hope this helps :)

did you know that CTRL+ALT+Num(.) opens the Task Manager? :o

Disable the Welcome screen and GINA will be back. BTW Ctrl+Shift+Esc brings up Task Mgr.

Stupid XP Desktop settings question...............

In Display Properties, try going to Desktop -> Customize Desktop -> Web -> uncheck Lock desktop Items. edit: Try this too...Go to system properties (Windows Key + Pause/nBreak) -> Advanced ->Performance Settings -> check Use drop shadows for icon labels on the desktop.
